Smile NEW MEMBER? Introduce yourself in this thread.

Alright spill the beans guys! Who are you all? There's got to be a few old introduction threads around from the old forums, but this is all new: so thus a new introduction thread.

I suppose I should start. My name is Matthew (yes my email address ends with an "i"). I'm a 15 year old who goes to school in Melbourne, Australia. Which is incidentally where I also live. I love physics, and astrophysics especially. Though I never seemed to get in the whole observational astronomy thing. Umm... is there anything else I should say? Probably not: it'd bore you to tears.

Hi Well, I'm a 15 year old boy who lives in Brisbane australia, I'm from BABB and I used to be the youngest member- I'm quite upset at this possible loss...

Anyway I'm into astronomy(duh) but equally observational as physics I've also got a site here Note that the forum is brocken atm...

Anyway I can't wait to get to know more people!

Wish we had our old smilies back...

G'day! I'm from Brissy as well, but I'm a year older than mick...

I also enjoy cricket and computer-related gunk.

I can't wait to see what new smileys we have here, nothing can be as bad as what we used to have on BABB... :P

with regards

Great to see I can post with colour here too.

Cool

Wayne Smith is my name. I'm 34 and used to live in Brisbane. Now I'm a few hours drive west of it. I don't know how long I'll be here now that BA is running things. This could be hello and goodbye.

He doesn't like me very much. Finds my attitude unbecoming.

Whatever that means.

I just come to this board to read the messages and occasionally post a few. Guess I'll have more time for my own board from now on.

It's pretty cool you're in Melbourne, I know quite a few people on forums based in the USA and they are here

It's not just the BA running things - so you can't just blame him, if you go it's your own fault...

Hello everyone. This is Rahul Dandekar from UT. I'm 17, from Mumbai, India, and am doing a B.Sc. in Physics (first year currently). Well, it seems I will get to know many more people in a few days. Thanks, Phil and Fraser from bringing the merger about.

Ages aside, I am an American who will soon (next May) be posting from Australia when I move to Melbourne upon graduating from my University.

Woo hoo! And I love the smilies here, though I'm not awake enough yet to figure out how to get to them. LOL

'Morning folks, I see we're on the flip side. I'm Moose, and to quote the Dread Pirate Wesley, I'm "no one of consequence". If, like the good swordsman Montoya, you "really must know", the public stuff will be in my profile shortly (if it isn't already there.)

It seems I'm older than Mikkal, and younger than R.A.F.

[Edit: SciFi Chick! Good to see you again!]

Hi All! Another Aussie here, from a couple of hours north of MrObvious. If you take R.A.F's age, subtract Mickals, you'll get pretty close to mine.
When I was little, I always said that when I grew up, I wanted to be an astronomer. So far, neither of those has happened, but I hang out here to pretend. I'm also a Apollo / 60's space travel nut.
Do we not have time stamps here? That's a bit odd...

Hello to the familiar faces as well as the new.

I'm a 34-year-old amateur astronomer & skeptic living just outside beautiful Austin, Texas. Among other numerous other things, I'm a serious Flecktones addict.

Yeah, so I'm Samara...I was on the BABB for about two months.

Now, what I want to know is...DO WE GET AVATARS?

Good morning, all!

I see that our Fearless Leaders got things merged and running very promptly -- far quicker than the 24-48 hours estimated. Great job!

As for me, I found the BABB when it was still the old format (pre-phpBB) and participated mostly in the Apollo Hoax conversations. Not much has changed, I guess...

Hi Mickal. I'm stunned I'm still able to post or do anything. BA must still be in bed.

I don't mind being banned. I talk straight and blunt. Some forums can't weather open debates very well. I've never had any problems here before but the second BA arrives on the scene I'm being told the new censorship laws.

Yes it will be my fault. Because I choose not to be bullied by a stargazer on a power trip.
