Default Principal offenders

Who do you think are the Principal offenders of the decorum here?

People who just post one liner aspersions in threads and don't really contribute much to threads.

I have a list of my own but I am going to hold it back until I see the response to this thread.

I have a bad feeling about this topic, but we can see where it goes. (we all know that us mods close too many threads ).

Do not name specific people. I do not want to see anything along the lines of "<username> is a real offender of decorum here".

Keep it to broad user types, ("I dislike people who use sans-serif fonts", as a trival example).

This thread is on a very short leash.

In the future, the members who will be banned.

Wow... lot of posters have been banned at least once in this forum. All these posters are "principal [sic] offenders"?

I'm guessing the distinction between "banned" and "suspended" is critical here. In current usage, "banned" is permanent, "suspended" is temporary. There have a very few "banned" posters who had their bannings rescinded, but generally bannings are permanent, so there are no "banned" posters still on this forum.

Both show up as "banned" while the sentence is in force.

Hopefully vBulliten will fix that someday. Still, software issues aside, BAUT makes a distinction between suspensions and bannings.

Do you mean as a subtitle to their user name? That hasn't been true since the "Suspended" user group was implemented...unless one of the moderators (myself included) forgets to select that group during the suspension process.

Ah. I see. Yeah, the suspended group was implemented a while back. Maybe around a year ago now.

As we all know, I am infuriated by people who don't put real effort into their posts. This is mostly notably to do with grammar, but I think it is extremely discourteous to make broad sweeping statements about a field wherein you obviously know very little. I'm sure we can all find a thread where I've done that; I'm sure we can all pick out any name from the user list at random and, provided that person has more than about a hundred posts, find a thread where that person has done it. However, there are some people who are systematically posting opinions in threads where they admit to ignorance and don't care. It's rude, and it's a type of rude of which official notice is seldom taken. This, no doubt, is because it's hard to police.

I dislike people with usernames based on Pink Floyd songs.

Sometimes one line is all you need. Nereid just proved that point.

For those who didn't wiki the referance.

Principal; primary, formost. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principal

Principle; a descriptive comprehensive and fundamental law, doctrine, or assumption; (b) a normative rule or code of conduct.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle

I meant it in the the sense I spelled it in "primary, formost" offenders.

That's what I thought. It looked like the correct spelling to me.

With a capital "P" (Principal), but a lower case "o" (offenders); and why not an upper case "D", (Decorum)?

The principal Offenders of the Decorum unite! You have nothing (or Nothing) to lose (or Lose) but YOUR CHAINS (or your chains)!!

First of get a sense of humour. Second by what strandards do you define an offender. Some of the most disruptive post by my strandards were some of electric universe proponents who tried to hijack the question and answer section. These people have been banned and banned again when they used sock puppets.

But are you a Principle offender? Or, perhaps, the Principle Offender (the principle Offender/a principle Offender/...)?

And do you offend the Decorum (or, perhaps, The Decorum/the decorum/The decorum) here (or, perhaps, Here)?

I don't know. Could I be the Principal Principle Offender?

The board doesn't have customized rank titles, does it?

Nereid has no sense of humour ... every EU proponent (chained or otherwise) is united on this ...

Absolutely not (or Not, or NOt, or ...)!

davidlpf has made this crystal clear ... that title is reserved for those banned, re-banned, and re-banned again, for their principles (or Principles) ...

I can't accomplish that, since I don't have any principles. Or perhaps I adhere to the principle of being unprincipled.

Vulcans Gone Wild

Or at least, one apparent Vulcan apparently gone slightly overboard.

But then, a thing worth doing is worth doing to excess.

Notice that this post is 100% off-topic.

What would Nereid and Gillianren discuss if they met in a restaurant for
two hours? (There is a 97% probability that Nereid is male, despite the
username. If Nereid is male, there is an 89% probability that he knowingly
used a feminine name. If Nereid is female, the probability that she knew
the name is feminine is greater than 99%.)

I hate math, but I love numbers. And things which are self-referencing.

Does Gillianren love me? Will she be infuriated by this post? Do I love
Grahm crackers? Are they crunchier than cat crackers? Should they be
italicized? Should I be ostrich-sized?

I'm just bummed out because I had two chances to see/hear Helen Quinn
lecture at the U of M, and I missed both of them. I'm late for everything.
