This suspension may be extended or reduced depending on the outcome of a discussion amongst the moderators and administrators. tadowe is very new, and may not understand our rules, but we needed to turn off his posting while we resolve this.

edit: I have moved his recent posts to a thread in the ATM section, warned him, and lifted the suspension: total suspension time - half an hour.

edit2: After a post containing attacks on religion and the moderator staff, tadowe has been suspended for a month to give him/her a chance to read the rules of this forum, and get a sense of how things are intended to work here.

The suspension would have been one day, but I didn't personally want to deal with re-admitting him until after the holiday.

He posted a political thread, and had this thread been posted by someone we haven't already been talking about suspending, it would have gotten him a warning.

Meta has been suspended for a month for a fanning the flames of religious posting. The post has been removed along with one reply. Meta has just recently come back from a three day suspension.

later edit: Meta was not happy that his post was removed, and he emailed some things that have turned his suspension into a banned-for-life situation.

firstcontact has been suspended for 30 days, which may get extended to a lifetime ban. He/she responded very badly to a warning.

firstcontact did express some concern that *some* people could get away with being insulting, but that he/she could not. I don't think that is entirely accurate, but it is true that the regulars know better what triggers warnings than the new folks do, and perhaps there is a bit of merit to his position, mixed in with his/her obliviousness to our rules and culture.

In the end firstcontact said:

He/she may be mistaken about our censoring of things that don't meet our agenda, but it is a fact that there are other forums for such people. We wish him luck out there.

Margiani has been suspended for 30 days after repeatedly ignoring warnings about posting advertising to his website, and for posting bold ATM statements and ignoring requests to back them up. For those wondering, the severity of this first suspension is due to the advertising.
