Just for you, an alternate clue for #1 (select to make visible):

1. Primary color; savings and loan

Some ideas, but still no conclusive answer...
I'll stick to the other games here (no, not only WA! )

1. Jodrell Bank? The Bank may fit, but Jodrell is just because it is one of the observatories (if you can call it that) that I know 8-[
And because you want other people to play as well (come on Nicolas, next time they'll give ten models of airplanes and you'll get them all ).

Bank si, Jodrell no. Right kind of observatory, too, but wrong country.

There is a green bank observatory but one can discuss green as a primary colour (ask my s.o., she's into printing, specialized in colour management...)

That's the one I was thinking of.

\/ oh yeah \/

I'm the king of this game I tell you!! Honestly people, do you just guess or did you actually read the riddles? I mean, I can usually say the answer halfway reading the riddle. Some competition would be nice. Tsjeez, come on.

Oh allright, just give me half a point if you like (a quarter?)

(ToSeek, if it turns out you got me into a discussion about primary colors with my s.o., I'll have to claim the full point as compensation )

Ah, of course. Glom isn't fond of "Greens" (especially when they're protesting nuclear power). Oh, and green is certainly a primary color if you're considering light, just not so if you're considering pigments. As for the few remaining items, I'm having a terrible time, but I'll keep working on it.

Not to get this off topic, but that's the "problem": she is studying computer graphics as well as printing (hence color management: calibrating all elements in things like a scanner/screen/printer cylce) and the answer about primary colors (and other color issues) is often "it depends whether you are talking about light or pigments". So green certainly is a primary color, as long as you're talking about light. And of course we're talking light here on an astronomy board!

Grey, EVEN I can't solve the remaining items!

What's left:

5. AM, open wide; parrot
7. Burn, propel a boat; before, what she wants she gets
9. Board; play, moo

Scores:

Tomba - 8
ATP - 1
Nicolas - 1

Hints:
These are on three different continents in two hemispheres. One is arguably the premiere observatory location on the planet, another has been the subject of discussions on the BABB after some very bad news about it.

I keep thinking of Cerro Tololo, Cerro Paranal, and Cerro Pachon, but I can't get the second half of any of those to fit, and I can't think of any other observatories in Spanish-speaking areas. Am I at least on the right track with the first part?

I had already more or less figured out the second part, but I hadn't heard of any observatory with a name like that, so you just gave me the answer. It's one of those three; I won't take the point.

Cerro Tololo is the one that seems most likely, since I vaguely recall hearing the phrase "what Lola wants, Lola gets", but I just can't figure out how to get "before".

I can't either, but how likely is it to be anything else?

To = before, as in "ten to eight". That was perhaps a little too nasty.
