33/33 after about an hour. Believe or not, #10 took the longest (even though I had already got #9 and #27!

But I've had practice!

[Edit: Yes, I meant #5 took the longest even though I had already got #9 and #22! ops:]

This has cropped up on another forum... Apparently it is not a test used by Mensa. Considering the bias towards bible-loving Brits, that seems quite likely.

Those question numbers can't be right. I think you meant
question #5 took the longest, even though you had already got
#9 and #22. All three are on the same subject. #5 stumped me
for several minutes, until I thought "Hmmm-- Do 39 + 27 = 66?"

I got 29 right in about 30-40 minutes. The only "cheating"
was to look up the spelling of the name of the German guy with
the USA thermometer scale. The four questions I didn't get
were:

#16 100 C in a D
#28 23 P of C in the H B
#30 9 P in S A
#31 6 B to an O in C

I got #28 immediately after reading that one person guessed
"P of" is "pairs of". But I think it should be "H G", not "H B".

I presume that #30 is the "South Africa" one, but I tried all
the P-words I could think of, including 'parishes", "ports",
and "prisons".

I figured out #24 13 L in a B D from "B D", but what B sells L
by the D? Cookies and donuts and muffins, sure, but not L!

gah! BD did look like dozen, but the L killed me, too

re 30 - keep looking for P words. It would make sense to Canadians, too.

16.. My money is on you, you'll get it.

31 is one I missed...

That was straightforward.

Okay, 100 C in a D. 100 cats in a dog. 100 couches in a divan.
100 centipedes in a den... Oops. That did it. Haven't checked
yet but the window is open and it is too obvious not to be right.
Funny I didn't get it earlier. I kept thinking of metric things,
but centi- and deci- or deka- just didn't fit. US-originated
metric! I wonder if Ben Franklin had a hand in that.

Oh fer Pete's sake. You gve me a clue, too. Sheesh.

For #28, 23 P of C in the H B, I kept wanting to say "ports of
call...", while others might want "pots of coffee..."

-- Jeff, in Minneapolis

10 millipedes = 1 centipede
2.54 centipedes = 1 inchworm

Edit to add: I suppose I should say, for anyone trying to track
down the originator of the above metric bit, that as far as I
know it is original with me. I only recall telling it to one person,
sometime in the 1980's. So it's been a while.

I have to admit when I first looked at the list my mind went blank for a couple of minutes, then the real obvious ones clicked. I got 22 of them in less than hour but had to stop, the dogs insisted they get walked!
After reading some of the posting I might just finish.

20 and I haven't read any of your posts yet in case there are spoilers.

Make that 26. I went back and figured out 6 more without help.

23 without reading the thread, 26 after some of the easy spoilers (number 30, 13, 5). Still need 7, 12, 24, 26, 28, 31 and 33.

22 so far, one I cant count, because my GF pointed it out to me (would be 23 otherwise).
I will probably get some after a while.
This test is particularily hard for me since I am not a native english speaker and we use the metric system here.
Still it is fun.
hheheeh, guess I can already call myself a genius now though.

#10? Man, you must have felt like you put it in (so to speak)!

Meanwhile, down to one nut to crack. I'd estimate actual total time spent on the test is about 40 minutes.

I wonder if I submit the results, MENSA will reduce my annual membership fee? And there will be peace in the Middle East? And there will be wombats in Weehawken?

I wonder...

Geez, I just got the last one, realizing (subconsciously apparently) from some posts that this "test" is Britnocentric.

Fortunately it didn't last that long.

Over and out.

I have 20 without reading the hints except for the deck/pack issue. I've got 7 and 26 though .

Ah, I've gotten 26 now as well, it just sprang to me when rereading it. And for 7, I was close, but I had "states" (and the F wrong a well). So now only 5 left (12, 24, 28, 31, 33).

I don't like this test, it only allows for one correct answer even though multiple equally correct answers exist

"100 C in a D", it didn't accept "100 cubiccentimeters in a deciliter"
