Professor Peter Shickele's radio station, WOOF, which started broadcasting in 1969, should actually be KOOF, since it's located at the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople (USNDatH), North Dakota.

Pre 1923 it was a line from the west border of Texas north. After it was the Mississippi, but pre-1923 stations kept their "W"s. I could say something about Texas in that regard but it would be a no-no.

Mark Hamill wanted the role of Mozart in the 1980s Oscar-winning Amadeus.

Someone seriously suggested Walter Mathau for the part [ ]. The director rightfully estimated Mathau a bit TOO OLD for the role...

Tom Hulce of course portrayed Mozart.

The Blue Hole in Lighthouse Reef, a submerged cave some 1000ft (300m) in diameter and 400ft (120m) deep, was originally explored by Jacques Cousteau, co-inventor of the aqualung.(Belize)

Unique freshwater species of shark and swordfish have evolved in the long period since Lake Nicaragua was cut off from the Pacific Ocean by a belt of volcanic cones.

If the Hoover Dam had been built as a single unit, rather than as a stack of individual blocks, the concrete would have taken 125 years to set.

According to the American Solar Energy Society, enough sunlight falls on the earth's surface each minute to meet world energy demand for an entire year.
