Suppose a planet is a perfect hollow sphere made from a uniform material. Also suppose all other planets are sufficiently far that they can be ignored. Suppose an astronaut is exactly at the center of the planet, but moving at some speed towards a point on the sphere. What is the minimum speed he must move at to escape the gravitation of the sphere, and reach the surface of the planet (that is, the inside of the sphere)? Express answer in terms of radius of the planet, thickness of its crust, and density of the material.

I'll take your word for it, even though that's more like Atlantic in E & Indian Ocean in W.

My Tompa is at N end of Lake Baikal in Siberia.
