The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is really an anagram devised by Newton, revealing where he kept his wig powder (I'm not telling).

Newton's Principia was actually written by William Shakespeare under the pen name 'Michael Crichton'.

Warner Brothers (in collaboration with Quantum Pictures) is in pre-production for the blockbuster Principia, set for release for Christmas in 2013. It is rumored that it will star Will Smith as Issac Newton, and Angelina Jolie as The Calculus.

If you take a thin quartz rod and insert it through a small ferrite core, then wind the combination with helices of bright copper wire in opposite directions, Martha Stewart will grab it and use it as a Christmas Tree ornament.

Sea otters mark their monitors using a small scent gland behind their left ear. The field studies on river otters are less extensive (most were done before the wide spread availability of inexpensive flat screen monitors), but based on some data with an old EGA monitor, it would appear that river otters do a similar sort of marking, but the scent gland is on their foot.

I have no data on others.

Martha Stewart is John Stewarts great-aunt (on his mother's side).

The river otter (enhydra luttra) is the only animal besides man that loses its temper when the ATM machine refuses its card.

Elderly otters also refuse to pump their own gas at self-service stations, preferring to grumble about what service was like back when.

A questionnaire sent to 12,853 subscribers to Modern Bride magazine indicated that the number one reason for canceling weddings was "bad mojo". Number 2 was "flower wilting", followed closely by "groomlessness".

Ironically, elderly otters in Oregon and New Jersey grumble about not being allowed to pump their own gas. Nearly 0.5% of the bail bonds issued in those states involve bailing otters out of jail after altercations with gas station attendants.

The first attempt to bring the great novel “Principia” to the big screen was attempted by the great Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa, in 1954. It featured the epic battle between Newton and Leibniz and their various university friends and supporters. Unfortunately, the film was not successful in English-speaking countries because all the math had been removed from the distributed copies of the film, Kurosawa had made it as a Japanese “Western”, and it had inadvertently been dubbed in Spanish rather than English. Here’s a scene of Newton getting really angry about something Leibniz said about him:

Another little-known fact: The Japanese word “samurai” originally meant “physicist” in English.

Whales have invisible feet. This was confirmed by Robert Ballard using the remote submersible Lil' Peekie, which recorded a blue whale diving below 2,500 feet with twelve foot long socks on either side of its hips, approximately four feet from the body.

Japanese whale researchers immediately harpooned the whale to confirm the discovery. In a paper in Nature, the authors all agreed the whale was delicious.

Tell me about it. The only thing worse than an old Oregon otter is a decrepit otter from Hopatcong.

NEWS FLASH

New rescue surf boards have been brought out today, after fears of small toys and teddy bears being left to perish at sea, the towns growing concern for these helpless things being left behind causing holiday makers anguish when finding toys washed up on the beaches.
These small yellow boards are easy to take with the rescuers and can be used as paddles to reach the stricken toys.
Angry locals made a collection by selling left behind dolls and teddy bears to raise the funds required to buy these rescue boards.

The editors of the Los Angeles Time appologize for a typographical error in the July 14, 2008 issue. On page 27, column 3, paragraph 4, the second sentence should read "wombat hair", not "economic forecast". We are sorry for any misunderstanding.

There actually is a Santa Claus. Mr. Santa Claus lives at 602-10 E 23rd street in Queens, New York. His parents were Fred and Barbara Claus and had a fine sense of humor. Mr. Claus is very slim and has a red-brown handlebar mustache. Ironically, he has worked as the Easter Bunny during several of E.J. Korvette's annual Easter day "Sale-e-brations".

Nigel Ipswitch was the first man to pilot an ultralight aircraft through the Channel Tunnel wearing only boxer shorts. On the return trip he took the shorts off the aircraft and wore them himself.

After a nearly 14 billion year investigation, Tayside police have arrested Martin Sheephandler of 14 Pothole Lane, charging him with arson, unauthorized use of explosives and fouling the footpath, bringing to a close the search for the person who caused the Big Bang.
