For every claim made, there has been counterclaims of some mundane explaination of what they are seeing.

So; let's see some tests that can be scrutinized. Otherwise we are lying on the cool grass looking at clouds and saying they look like whatever.
The posts are meaningless. Show me the article.

No, I haven't seen that. All I've seen is that the folks here aren't convinced and that means nothing to me. Show me the *article* that refutes his claims, at least one.

It means nothing to you that "Mr. O's" arguments for this Pyramid are not convincing??

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that we MUST prove Mr. "O" wrong, and that is not the way science works.

He must demonstrate with convincing evidence that he is correct...and he has not done so.

If that has "meaning" to you or not is irrelevant.

Stop pretending you misunderstood what I wrote and being lazy to dodge the request. As far as I can tell there is no valid scrutiny which you were claiming there was for it to stand up to. Show me the article.

Osmanagic makes the claim that he has found a pyramid. This claim goes against the established understanding of the regions' history. That makes the claim extraordinary, and as such IT IS UP TO HIM to prove himself correct. That is how science works.

There is no need for an "article" as Osmanagic hasn't demonstrated that he has found ANYTHING.

...and drop the attitude as it will not serve you well here.

No, I don't care what you think he needs to prove. I say YOU have to prove to me that there is actual scrutiny that it needs to stand up to. Show me the article containing the scrutiny. I am now convinced that there isn't one.

@DavidW
i take it you have not read the entire thread.
If you had, there should be little doubt that the `Pyramid` is purely a money making adventure and that it has been condemned by archaeologists and geologists as a work of fiction.

(There is a link to an *article* that i posted fairly early on in the thread)

Thanks, its about time someone answered my request with a valid response. When I first come to a thread like over 10 pages long of what appears to be mostly posts of BS I usually only read a few at the intro and a few of the last.

RAF understood your request perfectly, and he did not dodge your request.

It would be like if I made an extraordinary claim, with no proof, and then demanded that you produce an article that disproves my claim.

It would be unreasonable of me to do so to you. Because it is not possible to disprove something in that way. Many examples have been used to explain this concept, by people like Sagan and many posters here over the years. For example, I could claim to have an invisible dragon in my yard. I offer no proof of its existence, yet demand that you accept that it does exist or else disprove its existence.

Well, there needs to be solid archaeological evidence before anyone says so for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bosnia had a small pyramid or so. I remember reading soemthing once (in one of my ancient history classes?) that some ancient Roman wrote on the religions in Germany at the time. He made some mention of them importing one or two of the Egyptian gods into their worship.

David ,
You really should read all the posts - I actually did go, and climb the pyramids. I spoke to Samir, and several of his researchers. I did scrutinize what he has done, and his claims (in person - for real - not just looking at pictures, or reading posts.) And I posted a link to an article about it. I'll repost that link now so you don't have to look for it: pyramids

I do think there is a lot more work that needs to be done. The proofs have not been established. Spring is coming, and Sarajevo is a lovely spot to visit. Why don't you go and look at the work being done yourself? Let us all know what you think, and send us some pictures too...

It is only polite to read a full thread when planning to get involved in it, and RAF made very correct remarks on scientific burden of proof. The only thing Blob did more than RAF is saying that there are actually links in this thread. RAF is not in fault for not saying so, you are for not reading the thread. Less attitude (our posts are "bull****", meaningless, we dismiss the pyramids for biblical reasons...) and more involvement wouldn't hurt. Read the thread, don't describe things you apparently only read half as BS (abbreviated strong words aren't allowed here btw), and if you can't find it, simply ask whether there are links to articles you might have overlooked, and you will get quite different responses from RAF and everyone here. A question is more inviting to effort from our side than a blunt order ("show me the article").

That's palaeontologists digging up dinosaurs, anthropologists study humanity.

Depending on how one practices anthropology, it can be both science and pseudo science. That goes for all disciplines of science actually.

Since you don't know anything about it, not even knowing what the term means, how would you know?

You are having attitude problems, not me. I only wanted an article.

I'm not so sure that is necessary, especially on a very long thread.

However, what is necessary is to be polite. In fact, it's a BAUT rule.

DavidW, your attitude leaves much to be desired. Try showing people the same degree of respect you wish them to show you.

Absolutely true. Osmanagic has presented some pretty extraordinary claims; the burden of proof is his.
