Interesting, but how is that solving this problem?
He said growers and grocers throw out thousands of bushels of fruit each year because it ripened faster than it could get to market or be sold.
If the fruit ripens, and they now know it, won't it be thrown out anyway?
And if it isn't ripe, wouldn't it just go to the shelves anyway?

I think it's the consumer that can benefit. Do I eat it now, or do I let it ripen.

And here come the conspiricy theororists... grocers running around putting new stickers on bad fruit.
