You may wish to review my educated guess. I said nothing about mixing the discharged water with warmer water around the discharge point. I was advocating a location where the surrounding water is at the same temperature as the discharge. We know the surface water around Hawaii is warm and that the bottom water at great depths is cold. It should be simple in principle to find a level at which the temperature matches that of the discharge.

Yeah, I agree. As I said earlier, I thought of a constant use in worldwide scale. But then it occurs to me that the system is only applicable in special cases, with favorable conditions, like Hawaii.

Still, it is worth an academic exercize.
