Well, if it was Ingot Bergman...

What would we have to pay you to make you leave now?

Try the veal. And don't forget to tip the waiters.

Arrow Debunking from Mark Chu-Carroll

Just wanted to point out that the Reuter's "news item" is debunked by Mark Chu-Carroll (Google) in this blog post. He often debunks various pseudoscientific claims.

[quote=pzkpfw;1263350]I think what I found interesting was that it was breathlessly reported by Reuters, seemingly without criticism or at least second opinion.

This is typical of news organizations when they lack a science editor with critical thinking skills.

The fuel cell idea has been around for awhile. It is not new news.

Let's cut to the chase. The specs given by Genepax themselves state that the demonstrated stack has a 300 watt capability. They are hopeful of making a 1 kilowatt version soon.

Do the math: 300 watts = .4 horsepower and 1 kilowatt = 1.34 horsepower. These are hardly values capable of pushing a car along at anything approaching highway speed.

Sheesh....
