Sorry for the loss of your friend, Anne! :-( I recall a mention of your loss back then, but I'm only sporadically at BAUT and now recall upon visiting your Messages. I hope the funeral expenses were adequately covered.

Wow. My wife, my mother-in-law, and several other members from my wife's family have had Cholecystectomies, with no serious problems. I'm so sad for your loss.

Oh, Henrik. I am so very sorry to hear this news. Most awful for you.
I always wonder why bad things have to happen to good people. It's so sad.

Ridiculous thing for me to say, but try and be strong.
For yourself. For Anne and her son. For Anne's mother / family. You are all family.

    warmest regards dear friend

The person who passed away was my girlfriend for three years Anne who was still my very good friend when she went to the hospital for what was thought to be a routine Cholecystectomy. After several complications she spent 8 weeks in intensive care before dying Thursday the 9th in the company of friends and relatives.
She leaves a son of 18 and her mother.

Now for the sad part, they can't afford the funeral even with the simplest arrangements and though I've been trying to convince them to let me pay for the part they can't afford they are very unhappy about getting that much from one person.

If anybody feels like helping, know that any little bit will help.
I believe PayPal is the way to transfer money with the smallest fees, so any money sent to the private PayPal account with email henrik@dawn.dk will go to help pay for the funeral.
Mark it as a personal gift so we don't get in trouble with PayPal's rules.

If you prefer bank transfers, transfer to IBAN: DK4852240001507041 SWIFT/BIC: AMBKDKKK, but be aware that I'm paying a fee of about 5$ for receiving money that way.

It's a small version of a Klein bottle I rendered for the cover of the December 2000 issue of Pour la Science, the francophone version of Scientific American.
