This is the pdf file from the FDA report on Vioxx. If someone can find a text-downloadable eversion I'd appreciate it.
http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopag...ioxxgraham.pdf The conclusions are disturbing. I've only had a chance to read the report quickly, once, but some of the data really jumps out at you.

While not the Vioxx document you requested, here's a link to a Las Vegas Sun text that curiously (?) is now MIA at their home site's Search Engine results:

Based on what I've already seen, it's going to be hard to comment on this thread without getting into some political issues.
If it does develop in the manner I think it will, lets all try and keep our posts factual and carefully parsed so the BA will not feel compelled to enforce the "political" ban and lock it down. (one edit to fix a typo)

The NY Times seems to be staying on top of this, too; Gardiner Harris in particular.

Never really forgiven Merck for taking their vasopressin product off the market---got'ta love their wording here on frogesque's find, tho:
"... This press release contains 'forward-looking statements'...These statements involve risks and uncertainties, which may cause results to differ materially from those set forth in the statements. The forward-looking statements may include statements regarding product development, product potential or financial performance. No forward-looking statement can be guaranteed, and actual results may differ materially from those projected. Merck undertakes no obligation to publicly update any forward-looking statement, whether as a result of new information, future events, or otherwise..." Stepped into what up to where? |

Yeah, never mind the punters, what can we tell the shareholders? That bit gave me a chuckle too.

Senate Hearing on Withdrawal of Vioxx Prescription Drug Lends credence to the term 'smoking gun'; Dr. Graham equates filling the chambers of a hypothetical 100-round revolver with 95 bullets and the FDA declaring it 'unloaded', as regards to taking Vioxx. Good stuff, Maynard! |

What do you mean by text version, Mike? Can't you just copy and paste it into notepad? Do you need the charts in another format?
Here's the HTML version.
