What's better Hot or cold ?
I mean as in weather
I'd rather be cold or hot at lest you can rug up and thats comfortable, The heat its so hot and humid your sweet can't evaporate it just sits there making a puddle and once we're all nude we can't take any more stuff off.
Cold has it cons. too though

For me, it seems that when the weather is cold, I think to myself, "I sure would like it to be hot." And when the weather is hot, I think to myself, "I sure would like it to be cold."

For me it's more a case of dry or wet. Endless days of overcast damp weather are so depressing.

Here

South of Canada, north of the sane places to live line.

I perfer to be hot over cold. Sure, I can layer up, but my fingers never quite feel normal until spring.

But hot + high himidity can be worse.

I lived in Florida for 16 years, and now I'm in upstate NY, so that should give some idea for my preference.

I spontaneously combust at 35C. I know this from direct experience. (ETA: And man, you have no idea how much of a mess that made.)

I'm most comfortable between 10C and 24C.

Better to think of this as an opportunity, given the right companion(s), rather than an hardship. Lemonade and all that, right?

I think I do prefer cold to hot though. I'm adapted as a biological furnace, and this can be a significant natural advantage for me in terms of certain, um, darwinistic activities on cold weekend/holiday mornings or chilly evenings.

I prefer cold, as long as it's not -20F with a 50 MPH wind. For six years I lived on the Southern shores of Lake Superior.

I prefer cold winters and hot (~35C) summers. I would not like to live in Florida or Iceland. It's the change of seasons that keep me going.
And, of course: Dry, windless winters and summer with an occasional breeze.

I vote for cold for the reasons given above: it's easier to cope with. When it's hot, all you can do is sweat.

Beening a sailor and all, I guess I lean more towards preferring the warmth of Summer.

that said, there's nothing quite as beautiful as a sunny morning in Michigan following 10 inches of newly fallen snow coating everything in whiteness. Blindingly beautiful, I should say. . . 8)

I don't mind either really. It's just the extremes of each that can get to me. Dry heat I can handle, humidity ICK! Like you stated 38C with 95% humidity, I experienced that type of weather in Cairns, Australia in January 1989, can be too much. Much like the opposite, February 1992 maybe 93, we had a 3 week stretch where the temp didn't get above -35C (not including windchill factor).

I definitely prefer the heat. The funny thing is that until I was in my early to mid-twenties, I used to love winter and hate summer, and now I'm the total opposite. I do prefer a dry heat, as I find the heat and humidity together really uncomfortable, but I'd still take that any day over the extreme cold + wind combination we get so often here in the wintertime. Also, it's not only our summers that are humid - the winters here are as well, and I find the humidity makes it feel a lot more cold out there.

I remember that winter, and you're right - it was 1992. IIRC, the cold snap started in January, and just got worse.... Definitely the coldest winter I can remember here in Toronto.

I have a low tolerance for heat. I am a cold lover all the way.

Lets just say that in my place i will be in just shorts and rachel will be wearing pants and a sweater. :-)

Agree with ToSeek that cold is preferrable, since it can be better dealt with.

There is a saying (I believe it's Norwegian) that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

Bah. A good beach will cure any hot day. No amount of clothing is going to keep your nose hairs from freezing, though.

I agree here. That's why I like having 4 seasons with 4 different types of weather. That way I get a chance to be bored of each season.

One of the last times it got that cold here, my eyelids froze shut. (it was windy)
I didn't stay outside long after that
