I think that's a fair bet

Have fun with it! I got myself a pair of 5.1 channel surround sound headphones from Zalman and they rock at gaming and music! Plus I don't have to put up with people telling me to lower the volume anymore.

Enjoy, fellow PC gamer! 8)

Ah. So your handle refers to those around you, not to you personally?

Yeah, those headphones sort of isolate you from your surroundings, so people in the house actually think it's the quietest room in the house, unaware of the frag fest that is audible only to my own ears .

But I notice a disturbing trend. Our fellow BABBlers are falling off from this virtual haven. First mid, Moose and SKY wasting countless hours with San Andreas, Humphrey disappearing for long hours on end with Half Life 2, now Ut with his surround sound speakers.....

Hey, come on now. Who do you think I am? What recently released games come in 5.1 surround sound...

Alright, I'm showing my ignorance here, but how the heck can you have 5.1 surround sound in headphones???

What do they do, put 2 speakers in each ear and a sub-woofer against the back of your head or something???

lol

Here, check this review, they explain pretty well how Zalman implements surround sound into their headphones. The headphones aren't as good as something from Sennheiser, but they're excellent for gaming and movie watching at less than 50 dollars.

505W RMS on a 5.1 system. So that would be something like 5*71W + a 150W subwoofer?. Does your amplifier pull that in class A? I'm not trying to minimize your system or overestimating the importance of true class A amplifying in any way. I'm just interested if there are class A 5.1 sets available yet. I don't know how far technology has gone in 5.1. But from what I know from stereo, amplifiers stop at about 60W per channel in class A (and give like 340W in class B for the same amp).

Anyway enjoy your system, don't make the neighbours enjoy it too much, and have fun!! I'm on stereo for the moment, sorry 2.0 system I mean The 5.1 systems I've seen were supermarket systems that sound like *bleep* or expensive brand sets which all have too much bass for my opinion (the cinema effect). of course there MUST be really good systems around already. I'm curious how yours is performing. (stands up and turns around the vinyl)

Happy Birthday!

I spent my money on games, movies, and music. That's why birthdays are cool, because you don't feel all that bad about it.
