Default Wanna try something really weird?

"While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while moving your foot in clockwise circles, draw the number 6 in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction and go counterclockwise!...

I can sort of keep my foot going clockwise but it takes a lot of practise and concentration.......

It's funny because I started to move my foot while I was reading what to do. Then I continued to read about drawing a 6 in the air, so I started to do that. I got to "Your foot will change direction and go counterclockwise!" At the exact moment that I read "counterclockwise" my foot went counterclockwise.

OK this totally didn't work for me:

I'm a lefty, and I wrote the 6 in the air with my right hand accidentaly mirrored, which requires a clockwise motion...

Writing a correct 6 and starting from the top,, so the motion is counterclockwise, made my foot change direction. Writing it from the inside, which is a clockwise motion, didn't.

Maybe the better trick would be "CW circles with foot, then CCW circle with hand". Of course this description makes the problem your mind will have more clear.

At first I wondered why you all think this is so difficult, but then I realised that I probably write the 6 differently than others. I write it starting from bottom, so my hand goes also clockwise.

Ah! here you are forgetting the Central Universal Reference Point (CURP)

Before engaging in an unarmed combat sport like dancing it is essential to check that you home in on the correct CURP or the significant other (SO) will apropriate her own CURP from the dance floor and handbag you over the head with it thereby inducing a painful if somewhat euphoric state of trance that will cause both feet to circle clockwise (CW) in mid air while your eyballs fry themselves spinning counter clock wise (CCW) with exponenetially increasing angular velocity as you lay flat on the floor contemplating the Great Mystery of Life (GMOL, otherwise known as 'women').

Many are those who have ignored CURPs at their peril and common Health and Safety Procedure recommends you, "Sit this one out", preferrably at the bar.

I wonder how many managers are wondering why their employees are spinning themselves around circles and making strange hand signals.

I see many drug evaluations on the horizon. 8)

No problems here - though I am a particularly co-ordinated individual! I suppose it's something to do with being a musician. I sort of feel left out because I didn't stuff it up!

I tried it again, and I can do it just fine now. I must not have been really into it the first time.

I agree (hey, two lefty posts from me in one night). I couldn't make it work until I used my left foot and left hand. I'm guessing that it has to both be the same side, and the hand you write with. Any other combination does nothing for me. Can any righties confirm by trying their left hand/foot?

Sounds like a normal day at work, especially Monday morning after one has become really aware of the enormity of TCTOOTW (the crisis that occurred over the weekend), thereby throwing the ensuing week into disarray, or Friday afternoon after the COTW (crisis of the week) has just kicked off, thereby engulfing Saturday and Sunday. The former is pronounced "tick-toot-wah", the latter is pronounced "cot-wah".

As long as my staff gets their work done even while going around in figurative or literal circles, then not to worry. Until the next phone call from that irate customer in Grenoble, that is.

Then it's always fun to stand in a doorway with your arms by your side, palms against your hips, then push out so the backs of your hands engage the door frame, followed by pushing out against the door frame really hard for about 30 seconds to one minute.

Then step out of the doorway with your arms dangling loose and relaxed and see what happens.

I can confirm. It seems I can do it quite easily using my left foot and right hand. Right foot and right hand does not work.
