Default good name

I've been making movies for over a year, and I can't think of a good studio name, like "something" productions. Any ideas? :-k

Names like that usually should referr to what you do. Like "type" of movies you make.

As an exaple...um..."Blowchunx Productions" for movies like um...Terms of Endearment.

Or throw a couple of unassociated words together that make you go ? like Bonegrease Productions or Doglitter, Bunshoe...

What kind of movies? Name can make a huge difference to how you brand your product.

If astro/scifi based how about Accend Productions? (Astro is already a production unit)

If you propose a wider remit and don't want to be too specific, Ophelia Productions has a solid sound to it and seems to be free as well.

Or you could go for a more esosteric single word like Tendress.

Without knowing the product line though it's not easy

One of the easiest ways to come up with a unique name that is easy to trademark is to cut two or more words in half (or by syllables) and jam them, or parts of them, together.

Any volunteers?

Just go for a random selection of intials and numbers.

"AQ40 Productions"
Sounds like it stands for something, even though it doesn't.

Or just some random word out of context

"Junta Films"

Besides I don't think it matters what kind of movies you make - did the names Warner Bros, Paramount, Comubia or MGM ever refer to a film genre?

Maybe pick a name from a foreign language:

Ladimir Productions
Nedoseka Films

Okay, I still stink at this.

Just my opinion...

I think it best if it were a nonsense word...one that doesn't really mean anything...which is what I was attempting to do.

CS...I think that your ideas for names are fine.

I have several sci fi
working on a fantasy spoof
several "randomness"
and my latest- a raindeer named Jasper that is constantly attacked by large, raindeer-eating rubber animals

so it would be hard to name it after my work, except random....ness

Guilty as charged. If I had it to do again, I'd leave out the periods.

You do need to be carefull though, don't chose anything that might possibly be conceived as dubious or deviant (not that I'm suggesting your content is) It's just the presentation of the name, bankers, backers and distibution folk you have to be aware of. Also your films will evolve over time so you want something that will keep pace and not become dated or irrelevant too quickly.
