Of course Chem Trails are Woo Woo...
But then, what are these for? The first sentence below the pictures reads: Quote:

The objects you see are various probes and instruments that are used on aircraft dedicated to meteorology research. Some measure particle size in clods, others are for taking various readings.
Battelle Memorial Institute does a LOT of weather related research. |

Almost all of the probes hanging on that G-I are air sampling.

Generally, the big vapor trails from the large commercial aircraft are normal water vapor trails. Where I live, the humidity and temperature of the upper atmosphere usually determine whether we see them or not.
The smaller aircraft do a lot of cloud seeding by spraying chemicals into the air to try to cause clouds to form and to release rain. Many states register and regulate these cloud seeding companies who spray the various chemicals into the air. Plus there are the common “crop dusters” that spray insecticides and herbicides into the air, usually at low altitudes over crops. Want to seed clouds yourself? Try this equipment. You can buy the stuff on the internet..... LINK |

A 1961 Gulfstream 1 is supposed to be spraying chemicals on us now? That's just laughable.
It's just a G1 modified to do atmosphere testing. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/176107/M/ http://picturethis.pnl.gov/picturet....mp;SMAA-493UPD |

You know, I had never heard of chem-trails before I came to this website. It just isn't somehting that Australians seem concerned about. What's that line about ignorance being bliss? I'm happy!

Strange, isn't it, that the Evil Powers That Be will let someone walk right up to their covert operations aircraft, take detailed photographs of it, then plaster them all over the net? [-X
Methinks someone will soon be getting visit from the Men In Black! :P |

Boy, I don't know...
That second photo reminds me of a bank of 4 carburetors. Venturis. They look to me much more like something that would be distributing than something that would be collecting. <edited to fix photo url> |

You've already been shown all about the plane. What don't you know?
The plane is too small to even make a piddling little contrail, anyway. It can't carry enough material. A 747 can't carry enough material, in fact. |

This is a conspiracy... The fact that you are using logic indicates to us that you're already part of the conspiracy!! 8-[ 8) |

Er..... (scratches head) I've seen the word 'chemtrails' appear from time to time on this site but don't know what they are - I assume some people think that aircraft contrails are some sort of Twisted Experiment or Secret Weapon?
At any rate; if you were going to build a delivery system that distributes some sort of chemical, why would you put it smack in the side of the fuselage where it would coat the side of the 'plane? Spray systems are generally either in the wings (for a wide spread pattern) or in the tail. The device show is as already described a met. package. |

I appreciate the info about the plane. What I was looking for was info on the device pictured in the second photo at the link above. It appears to be something that would be used for delivery, not collection. I'm not trying to say I believe in chem trails. Far from it. I am just curious about why 4 venturi-like atomizers would be hanging outside a plane. |

Those photos have already made it to the Portland Independent Media Center Web site (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alcoa Haberdashery Shoppe)
I'm wondering- does anyone know what the original source of that particular photo set is? I've previously had a bit of fun, when the black helicopters types posted photos claimed to be of the NWO's 107,000 boxcars with shackles that were built by Gunderson to haul people to the concentration camps, by finding the railfan Web sites they were plagiarized from and posting the details. I tend to doubt that the people who operate that research airplane have conspiracist photographers hanging around taking close-ups of their hardware; I assume that those pictures were probably ripped off from a rational Web site. But so far I haven't had any luck finding them. Any clues? BTW, the Protland indymedia site http://portland.indymedia.org is often chock full of crazy conpiracist goodness. You can win the coveted "paid government troll" badge there even easier than at GLP. It might be of interest to the connoisseur of such things. |

I thought I'd throw a little fact in about aircraft engines and how much water vapor they produce.
A 1940's vintage reciprocating engine produces 1.25 lbs of water vapor for every pound of fuel it burns. Source: Condensation trails : where they occur and what can be done about them As for the venturis, I believe that are part of the air sampling system. UNH Acidic Trace Gases and Aerosol Chemistry. The venturis are providing a vacuum source that draws aerosols into the sampling equipment. Measurements of HNO3, SO2, High Resolution Aerosol SO4 2-
