Well everyone looking to retire at 65 might have to wait till 95 and then you never know they might make a pill that will make you live forever.

I wonder if this means my mid-life crisis will hit at 70

Mice are not humans, and this is an ambitious project that probably won't turn up much.

And if it does, the pill will cost hundreds of dollars per dose... Remember, there's almost nothing to keep our drug companies from working their filthy price-fixing.

Thyroxin is produced in your thyroid gland that is located in your throat; some people already take medication that replaces thyroxin levels for people with under active thyroid glands (hypothyroidism). This experiment is to find out how much thyroxin would work best to extend human life, too much and it would give the same effect of a hyperactive thyroid gland. But thyroxin increases your metabolism and reduces free radicals and also speeds up the removal of wastes to some degree, which all in all helps extend the human life.

Also what would the benefit be of only allowing certain people take it, non! Possibly a whole work force working 30 years longer in economic terms is more than worth it. 18-65 extended to 18-95 for working ages, the economy would get a major boost.

In that case, just buy your drugs from Canada. Just because drug companies are unregulated in the US, doesn't mean that's the case everywhere else.

You don't actually get hyperthyroidism though... at least I hope not or it will most likely be 30 years less as most are tumours 8-[
