Plus, if you watched The O.C., it would be obvious. The O.C. has a character named Seth who is obsessed with comic books, and a character named Marissa who has a drinking problem, etc...

*Imagining with no small amusement the possible overlap between O.C. and Star Trek viewers. All six of them. *

This wouldn't be the first time I found myself in a minority.

This is real

This is also Shatner's idea.

Berman supposedly poo-pooed it earlier

If it's real, you're going to have to show some evidence other than the article referenced here. As I mentioned, all of the characters have the same names as characters on The O.C.. That's just silly.

Hmm

Okay - its POSSIBLE this is a fake writeup and the idea remains to be poo-pooed. The guy took the shatner idea from a recent story and wrote it up.

I'll double check for the shatner reference.

Edit: Here you go

I was going to quote the last line of the article, but didn't want to run afoul of copyright.

However, it does direct the reader to "read more from Rick at www.aprilfools.com"

I think that pretty much sums it up!!! 8)

I should have clarified what I meant. I actually didn't doubt the concept of Shatner getting this as an idea. I just knew it wouldn't be what that article was proposing.

It still seems like a lame idea in any case. I think it's time to let the Star Trek universe go.
