Plenty of easter eggs for various versions of word. It's almost tradition.

Hate to be the wet blanket here. But it's little gimmicks like these that comprimise Word and other MS products. Each one of these adds to the load the application places on the machine. It's more code that can break and cause the application to fail or become vulnerable to malicious code.
If Microsloth programmers would stick to keeping only the code neccessary to running the application, it probably wouldn't take 128 friggin megabytes just to boot Windows XP. Why do I think that is obscene? Because I can boot a linux installation on 4 megabytes. Actually, I think the true minimum is like two, but with 4 you could actually do stuff. |

There's an egg in excel where you enter a game where you wander through a maze, and cross (and fall off) bridges. I think we talked about it before here in BABB maybe |

When you write HTML- you can ender the code or type the colour for a font background etc... eg <body bgcolor="Red">
Replacing the colour with the word "crap", gives a yellowy-brown colour! Test by typing in the adress bar (in iE) About:<body bgcolor="crap"> |

I thought it had been another forum I was clearing out old files from my e-mail box. It was originally mentioned the Readers Questions and Answers section of the Daily Mail

Yoshua: I'm talking about current versions of KDE - 3.2 and later. Those will run on less than 128 megs of RAM, yes, but very slowly, or barely at all - they may even eat into swap space. GNOME can be run with only 64 megs, but it will suck badly.
BTW, for running KDE I reccomend a lot more than the 128 megs it likes: 384 megs. GNOME should be run on a machine with at least 192 megs. As I said before, though, I won't argue with you about Fluxbox or whatever. I do get your point about easter eggs though... Including a pinball game hidden in Word, or a maze game in Excel, adds some unnecessary bloat. |

The spy hunter excell game 1. Open Excel 2000. 2. Go to File, Save as Web Page. 3. Then Click Publish. 4. Check the little box that says "Add Interactively With" 5. Click Publish. 6. Close Excel. 7. Open IE 8. Click File,Open, Browse. 9. Go to where you saved it and click open 10. Now you should be looking at a spreadsheet. 11. Go all the way to row 2000. 12. Click column A and drag all the way to column ZZ 13. Hit Tab and it should take you back to A. 14. Hold Tab all the way to WC. When you get there make sure WC is a white box and all the others are green 15. Hold ctrl + alt + shift and left click on the four puzzle piece thing (The MS Excel Logo) in the upper left hand corner. Looks like it nwas removed in the excell 2000 service packs. but it might still owrk. Verified by me on excell 2000. not sure on other excells. |
