When they launch on time and the weather is okay, we should here have a nice view at the orbiter and the already separated external tank.ö

Is it wise to have a full compliment for this flight?

When the first shuttle launched they only had the minimum of 2 people. Did they not do the same when flights resumed after the Challenger disaster?

One looks like a Shuttle lift off. I can't tell what the other one is, though.

ISS on the left, launching shuttle on the right. I'm not too happy that they doctor such photos...

This was tongue in cheek. I deal a lot with lunar hoax conspiracists and they always try to show that NASA is "faking" photos.

I see.

Perhaps, NASA should heed the old saying, "If you can't beat them, join them". I'd hate to see awesome creativity go out the window, because of woowoo's. Just a thought.

I thought MSNBC was covering this live, but I must be blind, because this article doesn't clearly state the coverage.

Can anybody provide more information as to where I might be able to watch 'lift off'?

This is the NASA TV webpage. You can watch on the web.

Here is CNN.com's webpage. I'm not sure what live coverage they will have.

I caught the tail end of something on the news saying that there may be a delay. Anyone hear any more about this?

Damaged shuttle repaired on launch pad
Quote:
Cape Canaveral, Florida - With the countdown for Discovery in its final hours, Nasa was dealt an embarrassing setback when a window cover fell off the shuttle and damaged thermal tiles near the tail. But the space agency quickly fixed the problem and said it was still on track for launch Wednesday.
The launch is still on schedule.
