I'd just like to take this opportunity to brag about quadrupling my money on the Melbourne Cup today. I backed the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th horses!
How did other people go?

Congratulations!
Who won kashi? I don't follow horse racing, anyway I was still unpacking from a camping trip. Well it didn't stop me.... ![]()

Kashi, after having just watched the Cox Plate there and Makybe Diva running away with it easily, I'd have to back the big mare to threepeat on tuesday week in the Cup. Very impressive trial.

This was an admittedly old thread, but it is relevant because today Makybe Diva backed up and won the race for the third time in a row, which makes it the first horse to do that since the race began in 1860.
An amazing achievement, 3 cheers to Makybe Diva! Unfortunately I didn't back it (unlike pretty much the entire rest of the country), so I was reduced to a cheering spectator. |
