You can use to display a photo. I believe you can also use the function below Attach Files to download an image from your saved files. I haven't tried this, yet. Good luck!

I wondered where this thread got to...
Buzz (on the previous page) I only just got your last reply... 'middle-age spread'
is the softish bulge immediately above the beltline ...
happened to me after I had to give up sports and heavy labouring without changing my diet ...
in profile, I looked pregnant...

I notice that some of the old pics didn't make it across to the new forum ...
and I'm not sure how much space we can chew up here,
but I've posted a few pics with Imageshack (pic-hosting website)
and should be able to link here...

Part of my mispent youth (the 'angry young man' phase) was taken up with songwriting ...
armed with a modicum of English, and one guitar lesson from a mate ...
who'd had one guitar lesson ...
I set out to become the next Bob Dylan...
or Paul Simon ... 'I have suffered for my Art!'
>thinks< 'suffered for my Garfunkel?' nah!

I wrote what might be considered a traditional folk song...
to impress a girl in a folk music club...
I think it worked; she went on to become my ex-wife...

So, here I am, about to do the encore performance of that song ...
because it won first place in the songwriters competition ...
in 1996...

cran with guitar, nice photo cran, you are looking a great poet, because poets can compose the great songs hence keep it up cran, that's nice.

in this photo your whole concentration on the adjusting the wires of the guitar? or just recalling the song? or you are just adjusting the guitar's noise with the other instruments?

Mostly, Sunil, I am hoping my fingers remember where to go when I start playing...
There was a man to the left of me (out of the picture) who was introducing me to the audience when the image was taken...
It was very late and after a very long day working in my cafe... I had ducked out of the shop just after the lunchtime rush, played my songs for the competition, and then went straight back to work...
When I was about the close up the shop/cafe at the end of the day, Megan came looking for me to tell me I had won (first place and third place ... not bad for two entries in the competition) ... and that I had to perform them again at the evening concert and dance ... and before they would let me up on the stage, lots of people were giving me alcohol (but no food) to celebrate my win... so I was also just a bit drunk...

PS. I used this image on my demo CD, which is a collection of mostly live performances of my most requested songs - so I called it You Asked For It!

Cran, you are really looking a multi-dimensional personality and that's a good thing, many people are holding different sorts of hobbies, you have a personal cd collection of your own album this is also a great thing, so how if anyone wants to taste this songs then how can be he proceed to get that, Cran!

Sunil, I think all of us have many interests and skills...

as to getting a taste of my demo CD... that's a little trickier - there are only ever a few copies around the place (after all, it is only a demo, which means it is mostly home-made, and is not available in any shops)...

the sound files are huge ... so, I will put some effort into learning how to make smaller files (like Mpegs or MP3 formats perhaps - I don't know much about that sort of thing) and then I will be able to post some online ... >thinks, must get around to starting up a website...<

whether what I create is "a pleasant noise on the guitar with the vocals" must be in the 'ear of the beholder' - it doesn't sound all that pleasant to me, but some people seem to like what I do (or used to do...)

Normandy6644 recorded/downloaded his music to a website. I believe he said it was free. You should PM him to get some details. I apologize, but this was so long ago, that I can't remember the thread he started.

Thank you Candy ... I'll see if I can track down the post or Normandy...
In between trying to make this new/old place livable, and sorting out a computer that sometimes just 'doesn't want to know'... and almost keeping up with most things... I am trying to learn something about websites, uploading, sound and image files ... and for some reason, I've even dragged out my fantasy novel (a mere 672 typed pages) because I'm feeling the need to redraft it and put it on the computer... I know there's an outside world - I read about it all the time...

I know the feeling. Quick question, are the 672 "typed" pages on a floppy or disk? If not, I feel sorry for you. I suppose you could hire a fast typing teenager for cheap to re-type it for you. I helped a buddy type his dissertation. It took me a week. He's a Doctor of Psychology in Canada now.

I wish...
No, the 672 typed pages are real pieces of paper... and it took me about 3 months full time to complete that draft.
And now that I am living in a small town in rural Western Australia, teenagers (cheap or otherwise) are simply not to be had - no, I'll just have to accept your pity, and type the thing myself (I'm making changes and proofing it as I go)
Until last month, I had a scanner with OCR software, and I could have simply scanned the pages in one at a time (and cleaned up the glitches that always crop up) - but it decided to die when it was introduced to the new computer (or maybe it was Windows XP...?) , and I've only just had to replace my monitor as well...
can I say "AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!" now?

Thank you, Dr Candy
I'll take my time with it (and I'm also getting some feedback as I go); after all, it's not like there's a shortage of fantasy novels on the market...

It's probably time to interrupt this chat ...
and put some pictures back into this gallery...
especially as some of them didn't make it across in the merger...
This is the front-runner for my next demo CD cover -

When (if?) I get to recording the songs, it will include 'covers' (other people's songs) ... so, I've tentatively called it Out of my depth

Old-time UTers are missing this thread, so I've bumped it.

Bumping old threads is a bannable offense, ToSeek...
