Sure, post your pictures, if you dare. If you want to hide behind the anominity of the Internet, that's cool too.
I don't have many pictures of me, because I'm usually the one behind the camera. Here's my shellshocked picture after Logan was born: ![]() And more adorable ones of the kids. ![]()

Retrobate? Hmm, perhaps...
Nice pics, Evil Damo! (ha ha, LOVE your new signature, pal!)... How does one post one's photographic studio portrait on one's post? Doesn't the pic have to be on the web to begin with? Or do we just email our photos to Fraser & let him sort it out? Ha... I'm sure he's got lots more to do, juggling kids, shaving, etc... |
|
|||
|
Hey Evil Damo!
I imagined you with a bushier beard, pal!!!How do you "upload" a picture in this forum? Is it possible??? I reckon it's a fun idea, let's SEE who everybody is here!!! Ha ha ha!!!! Can't wait!!!!!! (PS: Damo, what are you programming there? Billiards? Snooker?) |
|
||||
You blokes in your beards might set a trend if everyone sees them! :P I , myself, have had some "fluff", as Mum used to call it, on my upper lip for over 30 years. A year or two after getting married I shaved it off & it gave my wife a laughing attack every time she saw me so I let it grow again & have never shaved it off again in nearly 30 years! If you explain how we can get our "ugly mugs" on the site I´ll post a photo of myself sitting right here, at the computer. Ah, nice pictures of the kids, Fraser - & of yourself for that matter! :P Damienpaul, I thought the pics of Alice Springs were good - I especially liked the one of storm! Impressive!! ![]()

Okay, you should be able to upload pictures to this forum now. I've set the limit at 100 K, so nothing too big please.

Okay, I've used the "File Attachments" section to attach this image of the highlighted file attachments area. This could open up a wormhole in spacetime, however. If you don't see that section, then it means I've made some kind of administration mistake. But if Damien found it... then I think you should all be able to see it.

Here are some photos that I took in Japan this February. I am very happy with how they turned out. These are resized from much larger images. I've stored these on my own webserver, and if they get too much traffic I'm going to have to remove them. Below each photo is an explanation.
Hemiji-jou (Hemeji Castle). One of the most spectacular castles in Japan, listed as a World Heritage Site. It took two hours to climb to the top. ![]() The Kinkakuji (golden pavillion temple) at sunset, Kyoto. I love how this photo captures the reflection in the water. ![]() A group of school girls insist on having their photo taken with me outside Heian Shrine, Kyoto. How could I refuse? ![]() Two views of central Osaka from my 11th story hotel room. They line up perfectly so you can see the difference between day and night. A picture of jellyfish at Osaka Aquarium. I took several photos of these critters before I got one that turned out the way I wanted it to. Long exposure shots were the go. I had to wait for one in which there wasn't too much movement (i.e. so the jellyfish didn't turn out blurry). Osaka Aquarium is great. The whole theme of the place is how life on Earth developed around the volcanic regions of the Ocean floor. You walk through a kind of maze in a specific order and it takes you around the world to various marine environments. They even have a whale shark in a very large tank! |

Osaka at night... Blade Runner, anyone??

Thankyou sir. I am delighted with how my pictures turned out. Photography is so easy today with a decent digital camera! They look much nicer printed out in enlarged format at 300 dpi!
As for blade runner. You haven't seen the half of it. Shinkansen (bullet train) platforms are raised about 3 stories up. Seeing an express one "shoot" through a city at 300 km/h is definitely blade runneresque. |

Honestly, there's no "Upload Photo" thingy on my screen... ya think Fraser's trying to tell me something???
![]() I do have a photo of me but it's rather large and scary so I'll try and downsize it and will link to it then... I need to be at home to do that though and I'm at work at the moment. I go home in about 20 mins ![]()

Hmmm. I hope this works out.
If it did, this is a really bad pic I found of me on the net from last year's 8th grade dinner dance before graduation. I dont really look like that; my hair is a bit blonder and straight, and I got a sunburn before the day that pic was taken. Everyone else, nice pics! |

GalaxyGirl,
You're the best of the lot! A credit to your name. I hope you were wearing sunscreen. And Kashi, I remembered seeing the The Kinkakuji (golden pavillion temple) when it was getting a fresh application of gold leaf on a TV show, wonderful picture with the reflection.

Yay I did get it!!! To bad this is such a bad pic though...
When I got the burn I didn't put sunscreen on because I just went babysitting, but then the kids wanted to go swimming, and I guess I forgot to put it on. The burn was incredibly painful and funny looking. The flash from the camera actually lightened to burn in the pic because I remember being lobster red going to the dance. I still have the tan lines from that burn... |

GalaxyGirl
Well, be careful this summer. And I remember cocoa butter is therapeutic in case you do get a burn. Damienpaul, I'm lookin' for one. I was doing some hands-on construction the last 18 months and not eating much and lost 70 pounds. The only pict I can find was before that and it would make you look positively svelt. In the meantime, just imagine Robert Redford without the wrinkles. :P
