Beg your pardon! You imply Fraser doesn't know what he's doing. Bit rude!

I suggest that when your whatever-it-is is as successful as Universetoday you come back and talk.

I get the "I'll design you a new skin" offer every few weeks, and I always accept. So, I look forward to your design.

ROTFLMAO Chook

yoyo, Fraser's been running UT for years and although the forums are less than a year old, over 2,000 members and 25,000 posts can't be bad. I think many people are attracted to it not just because it's a good news source, but also because it's very easy to use and it's open to discussion about almost anything space-related. Mostly, we just try to have fun.

As for HTML - come on, impress me. HTML is easy. You can learn the fundamentals from scratch with just a few hours on a rainy Sunday afternoon and do some pretty interesting stuff with it. Those who don't have the time usually hack a copy of Dreamweaver.

Your own forum uses the Invision Board, same as UT and the same as my own forum. It's very easy to set up and create. If you'd told me you'd taught yourself PHP, which the forums are written in and which Kashi has taken the time to learn, *then* I'd be impressed.

BTW, style tip: Marquee's are generally considered to be pretty cheesy :P

hmmm.....perhaps I am lame but I'm not getting the marquee thing to work. Then again, using a search engine and installing/unistalling programs is about the extent of my computer abilities......at present.

Yeah, I don't like marquees either. Oh, and I like the layout of UT. It's colorful and easy to read. I would say that it is practicle which is a perfect style for a forum. The all black gaming forum is too dark. Grey, balck and white letters. It's not very easy to see everything. I don't think style is nearly as important as aesthetics and practicality. This forum has both. What else is there, slap a dress on it and make it walk the strip?!?!?! Nah....it works great just the way it is. Key word here is "works."

Oh, I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's ambition because I think it's great to have interest in something and to persue that option. Just wanted to throw that in there as well.

I did yoyoyo2 and it doesn't impress me. I also have tinkered with HTML and if I can do it then it ain't that hard. I learnt the basics on a rainy Sunday afternoon when making my own homepage, it isn't flash but works.

I think that UT is functional not flashy; informative not flashy; easy to use not flashy and somewhat boring not flashy. I suppose I'm more interested in content not the wrapping. Each to his own.
BTW your avatar doesn't work, I get a nice red cross. Unless that is your avatar!

I, another am happy with UT just as it is. For all the reasons already listed.
More smilies is the only possible improvement I can think of to be done. :P
