Hello from Rogue5.

I have been a lurker on this site for a great many years, I think since 2004 at least. I have gotten a good laugh from the membership here, over that time, in their ripping apart of the “Bad Astronomy” of folks like Richard Hoagland, and Nancy Leader. I thought it was awesome when Phil showed up on Penn and Tellers BS series; it was pretty neat to see him on TV after years of reading his posts on here. I have never joined before because, while I enjoy sky watching, I don’t have a good grasp on true astronomy. While I know a fair amount about the subject, I never had the patience to deal with the math involved or to try and sight something in on a telescope. So if you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering what has inspired me to join after all these years, right?

Well, I do enjoy hanging around in the conspiracy crowd, not so much as a conspiracy theorist but more as a skeptic; much like the posters I’ve seen on this site. In the course of this I have come across a group of three people who have about the worst astronomy of anyone I have ever seen before, with the possible exception of Nancy Leader. Their theories are inane and bordering on insane, yet I am finding it harder and harder to argue with them for lack of specific knowledge on my part. The leader of these three individuals is many times worse then Nancy, in my opinion, because he is using his well known name to justify that his theories are fact. So I have finally joined here after all this time, to attempt to fill in the gaps I have in that knowledge, or to see if anyone here is willing to help debunk the nonsense of Mr. John Lear and friends.

Rogue 5 Out….

Thanks for the welcome.
I am most certainly not Nancy Leader…
Rogue 5 was one of the X-Wings in Star Wars, as Neverfly mentioned, I believe it was either Wedge or Luke, but I am not enough of a Star Wars buff to recall. I figured the X-Wing avatar would have been a dead giveaway on that though.

Hello I'm new.

I'm really interested in astrophysics and all other sciences.

I have been looking for a science forum to talk about science with other people who love and enjoy science.

I'll see you all later.

Default Introduction

Greetings to all.
I found my way here from a reference in an "Astronomy Cast" podcast and it definately seem very interesting.
As for me? I'm 35, live in Central Pennsylvania, and enjoy amateur astronomy. I look forward to conversing with you.
Thank you,
Robert.

Hi everyone.

I'm an electrical engineer from Denmark, currently working within the pharmaceutical industry.

I've always been interested in astronomy (had my first scope at age 13) and when I was choosing which carrier to take, I dithered between astronomer and engineer. Unfortunately, I chose engineer.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi to everyone.
