According to the map, I live on The Johnson Space Center's property...well, I do spend a lot of time at work...which is next to JSC.

They have me living on a empty field where people fly model airplaines, and can launch model rockets.

The picture is out of date as the Saturn V is visible. It sits inside a big (ugly) building, designed to protect it from further damage.

Maps weren't detailed enough to even show major highways through the top end of Australia :-(

Wow, looks like there's a lot of us in MA.

I added myself but realised after that I must have added myself to the map a while ago because one of my older pictures is up. Is there a way to delete the older entry?

It's nice to have you back. Have you been away at college?

I'm not in college yet- can't wait for it though! I've just been busy with 3 jobs, dance, and school clubs/activities. It's also junior year for me (in high school) so the workload has been very time consuming. So, I've been around the whole time- except for a little more than a week in Feburary when I went to Belize and Guatemala (which was AMAZING). I probably picked the worst time to start posting again, because I have 5 shows (for dance), rehearsals, SAT's, AP's, and research papers all in the next two weeks, but I missed everyone so much that I just had to get all chatty again :-)

I can get rid of "Rachel" from Maynard, MA, if that's what you're referring to.

Now now, it's not my grammatical error, hence the quotes.

Got it from this SNL Short: Lazy Sunday

Despite that, as "Maps" is in the title and describing a singular entity, I'm not quite sure that "are" would be the proper usage.

I'd say that Google Maps is a single entity, thus logically requiring is, but I really doubt there are many who won't use are in conversation if they aren't paying attention to what they're actually saying.

You is correct. ["You" is singular, right? ]

"You" can also be used as a plural. Not quite sure if you were directing that statement at HenrikOlsen's comment or mine, but either way it would work... That would be if you didn't use "is."

"You" is one of those funny English words were it's always going to be followed by "are" when describing what the "you" is.

This whole discussion on proper grammar is making my brain hurt... I need to find my way to somewhere on here where I can talk about physics or astronomy or preferably some combination of the two...

It would depend on the context. I would probably say "Google Maps are the best" just because it sounds OK, and it would not be worth the time to explain things to anyone that would question my use of the word is.

However I would say "Google Maps is the best website for that activity" because then it is more clear that I am referring to a single entity and only a complete moron would ask for an explanation.

I've been gone for some months and figured if I just put myself on the map that would remove the dreaded lurker message but it didn't so now I'm posting this inane message.

I just added myself to the map. There's even a picture of me there for any of you who are curious (wink!)

Just added a new one with my new location.

ToSeek, is it possible for you to remove the old one for Moose in Campbellton, NB? It's no longer applicable.

I'll look into it - the site is now blocked from my office, so I can't do it now.

I have not checked in a long while, but when I went to look at the map, sure enough, corporate IT now blocks it.
