I was hearing the BBC, and the discoverer (I think that was the discoverer but don't cite me on this one) was saying that this hill is in fact a pyramid constructed by an ultra advanced civilization. He even speculated about a possible Atlantis connection. Any thoughts?

Maybe it's a pyramid, maybe it's not. But if it IS a pyramid why does that automatically involve an ultra advanced civilization? We already have pyramids in countries that didn't require ultra advanced civilizations for their constructions.

As far as a possible Atlantis connection is concerned - why not? I could also speculate that there is a connection to Middle Earth too, providing I didn't have to actually prove it.

It seems that the "discoverer", Semir Osmanagic has been seeing Atlantis and advanced civilizations before this discovery yet (things like "the Sfinx is from 10970 BC", and "the energy from the pyramids", can be found in that page) , so I think it is best to be sceptical until we have confirmation. For now, I think that either he has found a pyramid like building and interprets it rather fanciful, or he hasn't found anything serious at all... I guess it is the latter.

Advanced civilizations should have better architechtural constructions than a pyramid. A pyramid is a pretty inefficient structure in terms of construction time and space requirements. That's why civilizations today don't build many of them.

But you have to remember that in those days, they didn't have electric razors, so a neverending supply of ultrasharp razorblades is a good enough raason to build a pyramid.
