Default What's your weather like?

We had a thread like this last year around this time of the year, and it was very interesting for the contrasts because the weather is changing nearly world wide at this time of the year.

Here in Iowa we had temps in the low 70s, some big powerful tornadoes on Saturday (still being talked about on the Weather channel) Yesterday was cool and blustery down to the 40s. It is 29 degrees right now, 2:10 AM Monday morning.
Today it is expected to be windy and in the mid 40s.
Tomorrow we are expecting our first snow flakes. (about 2 weeks later then usual)
In anticipation, two of our local radio stations began playing Christmas music early last week.

It's been said if you don't like the weather in Iowa, just wait, it will change. This sure proves it.

Unusually cool for this time of year. We should be getting 80-90 already, but termometer is around 60. I like it.

I worked from 10pm-6am. I was watching the morning news starting at 430am. The wind was blowing so hard yesterday, wasn't it? The news showed a flag at one of the games almost blowing straight (like it was stiff). When I was driving to work, my car was steering itself.

The forecast for the next week is highs in the low 80s and lows in the high 50s-low 60s. Mostly sunny with a 10% chance of rain toward the end of the week. I'm off work this week and life is tough.

It was in the 70s a few day ago, now 30 degrees and fog, with an Alberta Clipper scheduled to roll through in a few hours.

Right now (08:00), it's:

partly cloudy 6°C
North Westerly Wind (22 mph)
Relative Humidity (%): 73,
Pressure (mB): 1005, Rising,
Visibility: Very good

Although the temperature is expected to peak at 13°C later on, with rain and with the wind rising to over 40 mph. A couple of weeks ago, we had a day that was very sunny and was around 20°C - pretty unusual for November. Our snow has moved back, and we now tend to get it more in Feb/March/April than in Nov/Dec/Jan.

So you think the prediction of rain later may be fairly accurate, eh? You could be right. We've had gale force winds every night for a few days too. 's math sin.

I'm in Wales, UK, where it is dry, sunny and about 50 degrees Fahrenheit and getting chillier... We have been experiencing unusually high temperatures this year with flowers remaining until about a month and a half later than they normally do in the Autumn (Fall), as well as bees and wasps being present until earlier this week. Normally we'd have had a ground frost killing them off by about mid October.

I'm jealous of all you people experiencing heat, Winter isn't my favourite time of year...!

hehe... if you had ever been to colorado springs, you would understand what it means when they call your climate an "alpine desert!" dry is an understatement. even when the humidity is up over 50% it is still dry (and probably raining). it actually hit 58% during the snow storm last night... dry and colder'n heck today. the winds are outrageous out in the plains with gusts over 60 mph (100 kmh or so)...

right in the heart of COS, closer to the mountain (pike's peak), it is not as windy. however, i live out on the eastern edge in an area i like to call west kansas. rolling hills but no trees... winds come off the mountain and howl like nothing i've ever heard. need to move north to black forest!

Heh,

I'm just NE of Denver - what I like to call West Nebraska. Wind up the yahoo last night, no snow. Beautiful today - temp hovering around 27, no wind, no clouds and my office window is wide open.

Gotta love these high plains... arid, but not desert. Does wonders for my asthma.

And.. and... they expect us to grow Kentucky Bluegrass here!

Well our snow in eastern Iowa is now starting. About three hours earlier then predicted too. We got some winter storm warnings down to just advisories.

BTW make sure to say where you are. Most of you have, but a few have not.

Is anyone in the Tennesse valley? They got one heck of a line of tornadoes and T storms from Indianna to Texas going now.

I thought it was sad that 22 people died after a tornado ripped through Vincennes, Indiana (and Kentucky). 18 of the folks were from the same mobile home park. They had to drain the lake to find more bodies. They storm hit at 1 or 2 in the morning, so the weather sirens weren't heard by many.

Going from memory here.

Sounds really beautiful. You've not had wind, for want of a better way of putting it, until you've had to live through days of continuous freezing cold 80mph winds that have come uninterupted from the Arctic! That's what we here refer to as "January".

This evening, right around rush hour, we had about an inch of rain. After the front past, the temperatures dropped from 80 to 60 and it looks like it might even reach the 50's tonight. I still haven't turned on my heater this fall.
