Default Costa Rica's Medal Count

I see we have threads for the Winter Olympics medal count for other countries, so why not Costa Rica - they have a team (LINK).

Please feel free to post the results for Jamaica, Kenya, and the US Virgin Island too.

I take it the individual country medal count threads are mildly annoying to you?

No, not particularly. Mildly amusing is closer to it. I was just beating the rush till every individual country had its own thread.

If I was going to be serious at all (which I'm not) I would be annoyed at the biased coverage of the media, at least in the US. I enjoy watching the Olympics to see the best in the world do great things, not just to see how well my particular country is doing.

Yeah, I notice that in US coverage as well. CBC does a better job, but it still has issues.

Every country is like that to a degree. Really the only way to get around that is to have a lack of world-class performers from one's own country which means to avoid losing credibility a broadcaster has to canvass the world-class performances of athletes from other countries. During the Winter Games at least Australia's paucity of talent ensures that we have much of our coverage concentrating on the feats of athletes from far and wide, although of course our hardy few get prominent mentions and time on screen.

I remember when they actually covered the Olympics. Now they mostly cover individual athletes. They'd have time to cover more sports if they weren't so busy covering all the individual human interest stories. Must be what the public at large wants.
