Growing up as a child, we did a stint in PA, near Doylestown I think, someplace in or near Bucks county, anyway. . . . .and there was a street there called 'No Name Lane'.

At another point in my youth, we lived near a collection of streets named "*something* Acres", and there were 'Head Acres', 'Toe Acres', 'Tooth Acres', and 'Belly Acres'. IIRC this was in the Memphis or Millington, TN area. But it could have been somewhere around Kentucky Lake, too (Murray KY).

When I was a kid, I couldn't figure out why so many towns had a Frontage Road. It seemed like every town along the freeway had a Frontage Road...except ours

Ironic historical note, the Chinese pilot who's fighter collided with the Orion P-3 a few years back was named Wong Wei.

Near to where I now live is "Pudding and Dip Lane" Where did that come from?

I've been to the "He's Not Here" bar just outside of Giddings, TX.

Always funny listening to the 'tender answer the phone. Three words max.

I've just spotted that Gateshead, England has a street called Bottle Bank, which has posh hotels in it. In England, a bottle bank is a place you can discard used glass bottles for recycling.

Pudding Lane in London is where the Great Fire started.
London has a wealth of odd named streets, some obvious some not:
Balls Pond Road is .... a road.
Spitalfields is named for the ho-spital nearby. Compare the more modern usage 'hospice'.
Cloth Fair had a market once.
Bear Alley.
Bevis Marks - once owned by the monks of Bury.
Fetter lane - not manacles, but lawyers!
Cheapside, a very upmarket thoroughfare through the City.
Poultry,Threadneedle Street, Houndsditch, Postman's Park, Little Britain (long before the TV series), Petticoat Lane.
Truely, a man who is bored of London...........

When travelers leave Bush Field in Augusta, GA using the main gate, and proceed straight ahead, the highway they are on is Tobacco Road. Yes, that Tobacco Road.

I can imagine trying to tell a vendor on the phone what your address is if you live on some of those streets!

Does anyone remember Intercourse?

Tangent, Oregon! (I haven't been to the event where we pass through Tangent in some time, but I really need a picture of the sign that says, "Now entering Tangent.")

When we drove around the Olympic Peninsula a couple of years ago, we made sure to get a picture of the post office window in Humptulips.

'Goa Way."

Goa is a real state in India and my son in law comes from there. But the sign is actually a joke. I doubt if the sign makers actually knew there's a place called "Goa".

if you live just outside tangent would that be off-tangent.
