hey my names john and when im high i always get these ideas so seem revolutionary and others i disprove but sadly i have forgotten most of them (marijuana) it affects the memory, you know anyways i had this this theory just a min ago so i registered so i could get some help with it i guess he it is i wrote it on a note pad on the computer so ill just paste it here:

all time is is the speed at which you obsorbe the present.
the speed of time is fifferent in each person
which is why we dies at different age, excluding deseses and famon and every thing wich is not pure.
find a way to slow down a persons obsorbing speed and you will slow doen time dated thu mar 9 5:29 pm
bye johnathan daniel hoehaver
p.s. and also i made a quote:knowledge isnt know untill its thought. p.p.s. its true

After weaving through the spelling, it still looks like a bunch of nonsense to me. So what did you want help with?

Your logic is flawed: there definately is a generic speed of time. Otherwise there would be people from the audience leaving the races halfway and others still watching in awe long after it's finished. You can't state personal time would stretch or compress everything, otherwise you can't outlive somebody else who also died "pure".

Of course, there are differences in experiencing time related to consciousness and other factors. Time flies when playing games, time goes very slow in an immediate crisis where you're at max awareness etc.

But the theory as you state it does not fit with reality.

And if whatever you take affects your memory, I think you should try to reduce taking it. It does not sound healthy.

Reminds me of a Dennis Miller bit:

A - "How do I know the color red is the same for me as it is for you?"

B - "OK, put the elephant bong down Momenschwanz, you're starting to scare me."

Did you ever see that "Twilight Zone" where the guy signed a contract and they cut out his tongue and put it in a jar and it wouldn't die, it just grew and pulsated and gave birth to baby tongues? Pretty cool, huh?

Pinto: How long have you been working on it?

Mr. Jennings: Four and a half years.

Pinto: Must be very good.

Mr. Jennings: It's a piece of &#%@.

(soft instrumental music)

Mr. Jennings: Would anybody like to smoke some pot?

Pinto, Boone, and Katy: Yeah.

(Mr. Jennings gets up, locks the door, and pulls down all the window shades)

Boone (to Pinto): You ever smoked before?

Pinto: Sure.

Boone: When did you ever smoke pot?

Pinto: I've done a lot of things you don't know about.

Pinto (to Mr. Jennings): I won't go schizo, will l?

Mr. Jennings (smiling): There's a distinct possibility.

Pinto: Is this right?

Mr. Jennings: Try not to drool quite so much on the end of it.

(Pinto coughs)

Boone and Katy: (feeling the effects and singing)
Hey, Paula.
I wanna marry you
Hey, Paula
Nobody else could ever do

I've waited so long
For school to be through
I can't wait no more for you
Pinto (feeling the effects): Okay.
(pause)
That means that...
our whole solar system...
could be, like...
one tiny atom in the fingernail of some other giant being.
(holding his head)
This is too much!
(pause)
That means...
-one tiny atom in my fingernail could be--
-Could be one little...
-tiny universe!!

(Mr. Jennings smiles and nods)

Pinto (to Mr. Jennings): Could I buy some pot from you?

You guys would probably like Shel Silverstein's song "I Got Stoned and I Missed It". Here's the last stanza:

Quote:
Now I ain't makin' no excuses for the many things I uses
Just to sweeten my relationships and brighten up my day
But when my earthly race is over and I'm ready for the clover
And they ask me how my life has been I guess I'll have to say

I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and it rolled right by
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned oh me oh my
I can't post the whole song, board rules and all.

no, I agree.

I think that it is the important part of "observation" in quantum physics.

Can anything exist until it is observed and it is then known?
