Default The REAL six million dollar man dies

Bruce Peterson, pilot of NASA 'lifting body' aircraft, dies at 72

Hard to believe anyone survived that crash. I always thought it was an unmanned test flight that failed.

Amazing. I also assumed it was unmanned in that footage.

Pics of M2-F2 with and without Peterson at:

They won't download for me at present - don't know why.

Videoclips, esp. the 'oscillations in flight' one, show what Peterson (I assume he is the pilot here) had to overcome: http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/Gallery/Movie/M2-F2/index.html
