Default Earth 'Dog Tags'

If you're abducted by aliens one of these could come in real handy!

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Only $12.99, complete with a money back guarantee. If you happen to be abducted while wearing your tags, and ET can't figure out 'where you live', you get the full $12.99 back!

If ET can't figure out where you live, how are going to get home to collect your 12.99?

They also provide (at the very, very bottom) ultimate alien abduction links. Wow, there really are quite a few!

So let me get this straight. ET manages to navigate hundreds ore ven thousands of light-years to Earth in a short amount of time (we are talking probably a dozen light years per Earth day for the tags to be of any use), has the technology to locate inhabited planets from many light-years away, enter Earth's atmosphere, land, levitate a person, pass them through a wall, get them into a ship, leave, do science experiments on him or her, and do all this without being detected, but they can't find their way back to the planet where they abducted the person from? How likely is that?

Well, if they spend enough time hanging out with and picking up the habits and traits of certain humans, pretty darn likely.

I really wish I had the imagination to make up stuff like this, it would be so much nicer than having to work.

They even have an alien abduction and research page. On that page there is a link that says: Have you been abducted? Take our alien abduction survey......

Oh my! Some of the questions on that alien abduction survey make me wonder if it couldn't also be viewed as a 'mental illness survey'? Just take a look at #11, "...did you ever hear a voice inside your head talking to you that wasn't your own".

Yikes!

This is too, . . . what's the word I'm looking for? Precious, wierd, funny?

We'll see it start to crop up in the seedier circles of advertising someday soon. Imagine a matchbook cover:

"Get Abducted By Aliens In Your Spare Time!"

On the Voyager thing, I had never really thought about it much because the odds of an alien civilization finding that needle in the haystack of our cosmos seems so incredibly small. But what if they found it, could interpret the map properly, and returned it thinking we wanted it back. Maybe they think we lost it. Or possibly that it still had value to us; kind of like empty pop bottles used to have (and still do in some places).

Some alien pre-teen, trying to collect a little change to go to the Galactic Corner Candy Store shows up trying to redeem the empty Voyager for enough change to by a Jupiter Bar.

I bought my parents sets of those a few years ago. They found them entertaining.

I feel like buying the dog tags anyways, just because stuff that makes me laugh should sometimes be rewarded.

I'd also like to buy tags for the other 3 star systems that have my name.
