Sorry about this but I am bored.
I have just posted a reference in ATM thread to a recognised theoretical physicist - a Russian guy called Mr Lif****z and up came all these asterisks! That got me to wondering how many perfectly clean and perfectly innocuous words/ phrases (with references) we could come up with which would produce asterisks. In UK I live in Essex. I also live in the middle east where the internet is censored. consequently, any site in essex, middlesex etc was banned because of its sexual connotations. Its ok now and (as you see on this site too). So the problem for the student is.... Think of a word/phrase that produces asterisks. The rules are 1) It must be clean. 2) You must provide a link to the actual word/ phrase 3) I musn't be banned Any takers. As a taster Quote:

ampersand#115; = s
£104; = h But replace "ampersand" and "pound" by their respective characters. www.mis-hit.com (sort of)

No replacements. It must be a perfectly clean word or phrase that any parent would have no objection to their children seeing. It must stand alone without replacement. In Egypt there is a place called Cush. Consequently anyone coming from there is a cu****e. (all words from the webster on line dictionary) Lets keep it academic. Cheers, lyndon |

So just as a clarification, mention of groups using an otherwise unacceptable word as proper name wouldn't fit the game, such as “in the 70's and early 80's, the two bicycle gangs Bull**** and Hell's Angels waged a long war over the control of the drugs trade”.
On the other hand, it's difficult to see what could be offensive about S****horpe To make a link containing the replaced word, you can url-escape one of the letters, eg. '%63' for 's', ie. '5' followed by the ascii code in hex. html-entity escaping (ampersand-number-semicolon or ampersand-hash-hexnumber-semicolon) shouldn't be used in url's, even if several browsers support this misbegotten wretch of an ad-hoc standard.
