In bad taste, for this apolitical discussion forum.

In my country elections are held under a unified, federal system. The voting is electronic nationwide. In the last presidential election (11/2) results were available two hours after the electoral day finished [which always occurs at 5 pm], and the winner was declared three hours after. Not a single case of fraud has been reported, and the results are accepted by all parties.

If all layers of the process are well monitored, the possibility of fraud is minimal. I also donīt think it is very easy to hack the machine at the poll site. The electronic vote is established.

You have (twice) injected politics in an otherwise excellent thread. Please do not post in this thread again if you cannot keep your political opinions out of it.

"Woo-hoo" is certainly a sentiment, though I wouldn't begrudge that. One should be able to say they are happy or sad about something (even political) on this forum. However, it is a slippery slope --- if one starts to explain why they are happy or sad about a political outcome, then one would certainly be in violation. (E.g. I'm happy that Party Y won in my district because Party X is a bunch of poopyheads)

I'm also not sure what you meant by "quack-quack".

Default Physicists win

Of note, the two physicists in Congress were both re-elected. Vern Ehlers of Michigan (R) and Rush Holt of New Jersey (D).

Woo-hoo! Scientists in Congress... nice. Although I must worry about their continuing hold on reality; too long in that august body will surely threaten it.

Hey, c'mon folks, lighten up. Politics is the last free spectator sport there is (well, except for bar fights). What other venue provides such passion, such drama, such comic relief for so small an investment? Texas has known this for decades; we often vote incumbents out or keep them in based soley on their entertainment value.

Will Rogers knew this. When criticized for poking fun at Congress, he exclaimed, "When I make a joke, it's a joke. When Congress makes a joke, it's a law! And when Congress makes a law, it's a joke!"

(BTW, all of my candidates won. Or at least, that's what I intend to claim when I write one of them asking for a favor. "Hey, I voted for you and I expect...")

I think that means there was some involvement by lobbyists for Aflac

Either that or Oswald Cobblepot was on the ballot there.

I assume it was a reference to the 'lame ducks' holding office for the next few months.
