At first I thought maybe you were talking about the Austro-Italian Ice Man, a stone-age frozen mummy (that's the one Sarongsong links to), but a second reading makes me think you're talking about the canonical Abominable Snow Man (aka yeti) and/or his American cousins, sasquatch (aka bigfoot).
No one's ever come up with hard proof that such critters exist. Most of the hard evidence that's turned up in the Americas has been revealed to be hoaxes (done for whatever reason) or mistakes. There probably is not any such creature. That said, there are people who live in what others would call frozen wastelands. The general term for those who live near the Arctic circle is Eskimo, although some groups don't like the name and prefer Inuit. These people are very skilled in living in harsh cold conditions, and they are as human and intelligent as you or I. They are no relation to the supposed giant ape-like creatures that lurk in cryptozoology. Fred
