Default My long, beautiful hair (this should make Neverfly happy)

My long, golden hair *sniffles* is going to be cut tomorrow.

A few weeks ago, while I was in her school helping with prep tests for Special Ed. kids, I stopped by my wife's classroom. Hilarity ensued, as usual. However, one kid, in particular told me "Bon Jovi called from the '80's, and wants his hair back"

So, I took a class poll. All but 2 of the kids thought I should cut my hair. Knowing they had a particularly difficult science test coming up, I challenged them "If you can score 80% as a class, I'll cut my hair and come show you."

Now, it should be said that my wife gets alot of the "tough" kids, being a spectacular teacher, and I never for the life of me thought they could pull it off. However, once the gauntlet gets dropped...

...sometimes it gets picked up.

The kids made it thier mission to get everyone on board for the test. Asked to miss recesses to go over material, things like that. And I'll be darned. Wife got finished grading the tests yesterday.

Class average was 80.3%.

Getting shorn to a high-and-tight tomorrow. I know I have all of your deepest sympathy

80.3 with a goal of 80 sounds a little suspicious. What kind of test was it? Any "essay" questions?

Check the raw numbers. I think your wife cooked the statistics.

Cousin It grows up.

Are you going to donate to a cancer society?

Captain Kidd is right. I've sold my hair three different times. Being a guy its more valuble because we don't screw it up as bad as the wimmens often do. (Though for the last 8 years I've kept it short.)

Fascinating. I hadn't thought of that. I'll look it up

Right, I was going to tell you to have the barber cut your hair in a way that maximizes its use, post-Serenitude, for wigs, and such, so you could sell the hair to a wig-maker, but the Cancer Society idea is even better. They'll do the same thing with it, for a great cause.

Anyway, sorry you lost a "sure" bet, but good for those kids to average a 'B'.

Wish I'd thought of that before I went short again. I had mine shoulder length and a month or so ago, I went and had it cut to 1". When they swept it up, it looked like Cousin It was laid out flat.

Did you specify how much you would cut off? If not, lob off a 1/2 inch

what is this "Cousin" you're talking about? The dictionary doesn't help me.

That's because they're spelling it wrong.

Or rather, they're spelling "Itt" wrong.

Here are some pictures.

EDIT: I guess the dictionary wouldn't help you, anyway. But the correct spelling helps with a Google search.

"Cousin IT" from the Addams Family.

Here's Lego[tm] Cousin IT.

[Edit: Oh, two 't's?]

I've donated my long locks to Locks of Love twice. It is an organization that takes the hair and makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments or other diseases.

Got their contact info? My hair grows at such a sickeningly fast rate I told the girl that sheared me that I'd miss the short hair before I missed the long, and I was dead serious. By Fall, I'll be long again.

Haircut is temporarily on hold, until I can find a barber affiliated with Locks of Love. In my tiny slice of backwood redneck heaven, neither of the two Floyds are. So, it looks like the haircut will be a weekend trip. I found a place in Marrietta that can accomodate me. So hopefully the snow isn't as bad this weekend as the forecasts say, and I can get that done Saturday

For the length being pre-established, LOL, no. But it was pretty well implied. I had thought of getting my usual "ends-cut-off", but I can't stiff it to kids LOL.

My wife has donated after each of our children were born. They require 10 inches - and many barbers and beauticians take care of sending the donation in for you.

Serenitude - you can always use the donation form and send it in yourself. Hair needs to be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, then padded envelope - it also needs to be in a pony tail or braid and can't be picked up off the floor.

Just to make sure (so i wouldn't have to ask a Mod to move this to the CT section ), I tallied the results myself this evening.

80.3%

But, there was a catch. She threw out the result of a student who was absent for most of the material covered, and who subsequently scored an F

Edit: As I've said before, her kids do research on this forum. If there's any strange replies, it's probably from them Let'em have their fun, if they post
