Yeah, I've got a big can (6 pounds - I love peanut butter) of Peter Pan peanut butter with that lot number in my car. I'm taking it back to where I bought it to get a refund or exchange. I've been eating it for the last week with no definite symptoms. I have noticed more frequent trips to the bathroom lately, though.

Is there a reason you started a second thread about this?

We have 2 unopened jars and one that's almost empty.

But didn't most of the cases start back in August? They just now linked it to PB. I wonder how many of the recalled jars are contaminated?

Thanks; I'm naming them Smooth and Crunchy! PB was a childhood love, to the point of going thru the neighbors' trash early on pick-up days with a spatula and totally cleaning out their "empty" PB jars. Funny how people always seemed to put the lids back on securely before discarding.

In the UK it's hummus that's been recalled for salmonella in it.

Apparently, ALL the hummus on sale in big chain stores, even the 'own brand' stuff is made by the same firm. Their factory is in ICELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food miles anyone?

John
