http://podcast.1069freefm.com/kifr1/178698.mp3 http://podcast.1069freefm.com/kifr1/178699.mp3 and you can check this thread if you already haven't... http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=514131 It seems to be a bit dated since the URL mentioned for the bad astronomer is the one before the site would merge with universe today. Nevertheless, I didn't have any knowledge about this debate.

It's a recording of a radio show in which the host, who seems to be "Penn" of "Penn & Teller", interviewed Phil of "Bad Astronomy" and Joe the comedian & actor who's had regular roles as a character on "News Radio" (TV sitcom), as the host of "Fear Factor", and as one of the commentators in the UFC (ultimate fighting) TV shows. The subject was whether or not there had really been human landings on the moon. Joe gave the usual conspiracy-theorist arguments against the idea and Phil gave some responses to them.
Unfortunately, Joe brought up some things that Phil didn't seem to have time to get to at all so they just went unanswered while the guys both continued to talk on other things, and some of Phil's responses didn't seem as good to me as they could have been, not in terms of accuracy but in terms of debate effectiveness and teaching someone who doesn't already know (particularly in cases that seemed to be miscommunications where they seemed to be saying the same things in different ways or using similar-sounding expressions for different ideas, but not realizing it). However, I didn't take notes while listening and can't give much detail about those generalizations, and right now I'm not going to replay the files to make a list of things I would have done differently. The theme of the original post in this thread seems to be "How could the case against the conspiracy theories be made better; how would you put it differently from the way others have?" The host of Fear Factor, a guy from UHC, and Joe the Comedian?!
Why would Phil even do such a circus? It would be like debating the ingredients of healthy relationships with the guests on Springer.

Overall, I think it was a good move.
