Default Game 3.0

Sony is launching "Home," its own virtual universe of social networks and online worlds linked to a new 3-D game constructed almost entirely by players.
The concept appears to be based on Linden Lab's "Second Life". But Sony's world will also feature video games for avatars to play, as well as virtual arcades, music, movies and other Sony-approved media downloads.

Capitalising on the popularity of social networks and online worlds, Sony will launch its own virtual universe and another 3-D game built almost entirely by players.
"Home'' is a real-time, networked world for the PlayStation 3 in which players create human-looking characters called avatars.
They can buy clothing, furniture and videos to play on a virtual flat-screen television in their virtual apartments.

Good 'ol Sony. Don't let those PS3 sales figures getcha down! I'm sure after dishing out nearly a grand for the system and a couple games to play, people can't wait for a monthly subscription service to pay for!

Sorry, I like Playstation. I really do. But I'm not as rich as those Japanese engineers apparently think I am. Unfortunatly for Sony, I'm also a fan of Nintendo. And thiers is half the price. And unfortunately for both, I've been spending my money on guitars and a World of Warcraft subscription, so I'm not buying either system anytime soon.

I hear you, Fazor. When a game console is more expensive than most (off the shelf basic) computers, I get right off the bus. Actually, I'd gotten off Sony's bus about a year before their "brilliant" rootkit idea, when I discovered that most DVD-makers' DRM would break my Sony DVD player.

Went Hitachi (I think?) and stopped having to think about the make of my DVD player outright. No problems since.
