Default do you get ear infections?

I get them all the time. It starts with a runny nose, which I sometimes get at the start of alergy season. When I go to sleep it runs down into my ear and I wake up the next morning with an earache.

I got one on March 11th. Went to the dr. on March 14th, was proscribed antibiotics, but it's still hurting me today. Ugh. I hate it!

Used to get them a lot as a kid. The agonizing kind. I may have had one in jan-feb, causing mild (but extended) vertigo-like symptoms which finally seem to be gone. Not much fun either way.

Man, I'm dying here. Nothing makes the pain go away. I am so ready to just give in to Khan and help him get Genesis.

tofu,
I used to get regularly have sinus headaches on an almost daily basis in spring and would get one or two sinus infections every spring. My doctor thought it might be allergies and started me on Claritin (back when it was a prescription). It did wonders. And once I thought along those lines, I started looking at pollen counts and realized my problem is tree pollen. You might want to check something like pollen.com and see what the allergents are in your area. You could also try Claritin or something similiar, they are now OTC.

As far as the immediate pain - try a hot shower, or a heating pad or hot water bottle against your ear. It should give some temporary relief.
