Odd. I thought the North Pole was always frozen. Maybe they are taking a lot of license on naming the exact location of where it was buried.
And no mention of when it was buried, or what Rouald's descendants had to say. It's either a hoax or incredibly poor journalism.

I am very surprised that something placed in the ice at the North Pole can migrate all the way to the edge of the pack-ice in less than three years. Does anyone know if the ice is really that mobile?
The minimum distance from the Pole to the edge of the ice is about 500 miles. The ice would have to be moving at about half a mile a day to make that trip (assuming the unlikely idea that it made a bee-line to the edge).

My vote is for incredibly poor journalism. I see a lot of this lately. Take a story, and try to relate it to the controversy du jour.
