Default Phishing Filter - Best setting

Help doesn't.

My "phishing filter" seems to be slowing the speed my pages are loading.

Is it doing so to a significant effect, or does it just seem that way?

'Help' seems to tell me it is only used to stop 'phony' sites and emails from trying to get me to type in 'financial' PINs and/or passwords.

Can I set it to manual or off to save any 'page load' time?

I would remember to turn it on before I buy anything with credit cards, Paypal, or bank transfers.

I am running XPsp2 and IE7. It is set to automatic phishing filter.

On for me in Firefox - never noticed any slowdown & 100% accurate so far. On & accurate in IE too but hardly ever use it so can't comment on speed.

Hmm.. I've never bothered... Nothing beats the Mark V eyeball and the Mark VII brain.

E-mail, of course.. *THERE* I use redundant spam filter systems

Agreed, Lurch. Even when I go directly to the address of my bank, I look at the address in my addy bar. And I make VERY sure I see it starting with "HTTPS://"

Is the 'little yellow padlock' still reliable or has that been cracked?
