Default Grrr, I'm really irritated at some nameless person at Post-it right now

<rant>

They decided to get "fancy" with their notepads. The dang things are stuck together accordian style!

For about 2 seconds it was neat. Now it's as annoying as can be as I have to check to make sure that I've got it turned the right way since I typically use them for bookmarks and write on the far outer non-sticky part.

Ah ha.

OK then, I'll switch my irritation at the relative that gave them to me.

Three packs with only a cellophane wrapper were given to me along with said relative complaining of the same thing. Had I thought about it any, I probably would have figured that out.

Ah well. Maybe I can talk another relative into giving me a dispenser for 'em.

EDIT: Although I will add this, the accordion-style tends to have glue residue from the previous one on the part I typically use and a couple of my pens refuse to write on it.

Make sure if you talk someone else into giving you the dispenser, you get the right size. As you can see from:
http://www.artstuff.net/post_it_note...sers%C2%A0.htm

They come in varied sizes, but 3" x3" appears to be the most popular.

Knowing my luck (or lack of attention to minor details at times), I'll get the wrong size.

I don't use them enough to do that though. Along with the pen issue, my desk's real estate is getting too valuable; keyboard, two monitors, a scanner/printer, a 11x17 plotter, and a model ship leaves little room for writing as it is.

That's quite a big desk... I think I can fit only half of what you have on mine and have any room to write. Probably I can fit the 3x3 post-it dispenser and use that as my main notebook!

that's why God invented the KVM switch.. here at home, I have one monitor, one mouse, one keyboard - shared between my Mac and my Linux box. Also consuming realestate is the VCR, the Docking station for my Mac.. um.. 520? (it's buried inside - too lazy to dig it out), the laser printer, the phone, and a small set of Altec Lansing speakers.

At the office, it's two of everything, except there's a APC 1400 rack-mount UPS under the printers (and no scanner or VCR) - and I have toys all over the place - on top of monitors, boxen, the printer, windowsills, file cabinets...Everything from stuffed cats to die-cast models of the Skycar.

There's no doubt at all that this is *my* desk. (the fridge in the knee-hole helps in that regard, too)

I'm running dual monitors on my primary computer, hence the two. However I do need a KVM switch as the second computer's keyboard and mouse are sitting on top of it when not in use. One of the monitors has both DVI and analog in along with a switch button so I've got the 'V', just need a KM.

Remember, eBay is your friend. I got this one for about $20. The downside: Not USB.

Hrm. Wonder how hard it would be to design a "post-it note shooter" and use those stacks as ammo. Cover a co-worker's entire cubilicle in notes in 40 seconds

It works!

(Nah. It's just some image I found long ago and put in my things-to-do-to-coworkers file.)

"The employee, one Mr Sidney Farthershore, was not well liked by his fellow employees. Well renouned for his explosive flatulence at lunch, his inability to converse at less than full volume, and a laugh that reminded everybody of a mule being run over by a steam roller,he had a habbit of picking his nose and tucking the results behind his left ear."

"Captain Earl Whatshisname, of Pembroken PD, commented that Mr Farthershore's habbits have provided the police with 'a rather large number of suspects. In fact, the number is growing exponentially as people learn he is deceased and call to confess. We'll know more after the coroner completes his post-it mortem.'"
