Default Hello Peoples!

Heya! Long time no see/read/whatever. I've so busy with school, job hunting, and practing for iPOP! Las Vegas!

But it was so~ worth it!

Ok, let me be an excited teenage girl here. So I only got two callbacks, right? Wah. Boo hoo. Whatever. One was from Coast to Coast, with was kinda blah becuase they picked everybody from San Mateo, but cool.

But you'll never guess who else called me back.

Go ahead. Guess. I'll wait.

...

....

No, I won't. Paul Weber from MGM Casting called me back! The same guy who casted Johnny Depp for 21 Jump Street! But get this- he didn't see my audition tapes. None. But, it turns out he was a guy who I was just chatting with in the elevator and lobby. He said he loved my energy and personality! And he only called back about half a page of kids. Out of 2000. That's about 12-18 kids. AND AND AND! He's coming up to San Mateo, and is going to keep an eye on me.

I was also really successful during open callbacks. Abrahms and AEF really liked me. And N8 doesn't know why I wasn't on their callback list, but the guy blamed his assistant who watched like half of them. He loved my headshot! He wants me to send an audition tape, my contestant number, and my school to him via email within like the next week or so. Anyway, after I was talking to him my director was like "Did you know that was the owner of the company?"

Of course I didn't.

All sorts of funny stuff happened with me in Vegas too. So I was at this iPOP! dance and some boy comes up to me and hands this card. It had this picture of this kid on it with his name, profession, and age on it. They guy who handed it to me was like "Call him anytime. He thinks your cute."

So this chubby 14 year old asian kid gets his friend to give me his card and expects me to call him? Ri-ight. But anyway, I flip over the card and it had his ROOM NUMBER on it. I was shocked and apalled, and started laughing hysterically. It was soooo funny.

Then there were the angel guys. So hot. Their job was to take pictures with the people and look pretty. So I posing with one, and my nose starts bleeding all over his arm! I was so embarrassed I ran off to the bathroom and started crying and bleeding all over the place. But get this: I was walking around in my gala dress barefoot (because them friggin' heels HURT) and he comes up to me, calls me Cinderella and whisks me away to get gelato. Then he asked for all my contact information (except my address, he didn't want to be creepy.) He thought I was cute! I was floating around on cloud 9 for the rest of the trip.

And then there was the guy at the bar. I went in looking for my mom because she said she would be there, and there was this gorgeous model at the bar (I could tell he was a model because he had a contestant number) and he was like "Hey you! What your name?"

Of course my response was witty and impressive:

"Um, I forget."

And I really did forget! He was that good looking!

"How about while you remember I buy you a drink?"

"Um um um I'm sixteen!" *Runs*

And mom and I saw Phantom of the Opera! It was so amazing, I don't know how to describe it! And I was able to meet the cast because I was from iPOP!
I wanted to get the tee shirts, but they were $40 each so I decided I needed to eat that week.

I think of anything else to say, but I had a blast! Any questions?

I honestly don't know, lol. Almost never went outside the hotel. And when I did it was only about 80 or so. At night.

You know, that's making me feel a lot better about spending the next week outside on a dry lakebed near vegas...

(Good luck with the casting by the way, though I'm sure you won't need it )

cjl, why do I have that classic film montage of failed V2 test launchs run threw my head whenever mention of that convention comes up? Some of those failures were mondo spectacular as I'm sure you know.

My Boo is back safe! I'm so happy! I was so worried about weirdos, scammers and pervs. Mainly the scammers and grifters to tell the truth. Sure, Boo's mom was there, but that is a lot like having the bait guarding the bait. Boo's mom is well under 5 foot tall, pretty and my right leg weighs more than she does. So I was worried sick about the BOTH of them.

Not to worry. I'm pretty sure everything they're launching is solid fueled.

Hi Boo! Good for you!

General question: Why is it that Boo's avatar is easier to look at than Don's? Male prejudice?

Probably 90% - the rest is hybrids...

That is a great film montage though.

There are failures, true, but the rockets are pretty far out, and rarely come anywhere near the spectators.

Makustov: I don't have a clue why that would be

'Cause Boo is using her real, pretty though heavily made up, face. I chose an avatar that is prettier than my own real face. I have one of those lower jaws that sticks out and make me look like a bulldog. And a "donkeybutt" on my chin as the kids call 'em now. Makes me look like I can chew horseshoes or bite my own nose. Scars on both cheeks and around one eye from a life of adventure and one or two misdeeds. You can see why I picked Marv as my avatar. (Though ladies, I work hard, I've never cheated, and I never hit first...or second or third for that matter. After that though and I start to get ticked off)

Hmm, I thought I'd posted in this thread by now.

Sounds like you had a good time, Boo, and made some good contacts. Congrats.

On the avatar thing: there's a reason that my avatars are what they are. (Well, two reasons: both of those mentioned in this thread.) In fact, I gave some thought to using this av with Apollo in it.
