Link to Youtube video of Spiders on Drugs. They call them wood spiders, but I know them as cat-face spiders. Several of them are given small doses of different drugs to see what effect the drug has on the ability to spin the web. This was done in the 60s from what I can see, but the video has been updated with some modern graphics and narration for comedic effect. Minor profanity at the end of the clip, specifically a term often used at dog shows. Oh, and one pertaining to donkeys. Sort of.

Kinda old but cool nonetheless. The world of science needs more researches like this. I had no idea drugs could have some effect on other animals if not kill them. Go to this website for further discussion.

My evidence is in the amount of clearly nonscientific (but rather funny) portions added in the film. For example, a q-tip is hardly a good way to administer a controlled quantity of a substance to a spider. Also, the stuff like the hammock and restraining order kind of clinches the argument. Then again, if you have proof that any of them are real, technically, the burden of proof would be on you to show that it was an actual study.

It is my opinion that the spiders should have thought twice before posting video of themselves doing illicit drugs on the internet. It's nothing new for Law Enforcement to use online media as evidence to prosecute crime. I suggest these criminal crawlers find a good attourney, ASAP.

And intersting discovery was made about animal behaviour when a spider was filmed making its web. The heat of the film lamps dried up the spider's web fluid, but the spider kept performing web making motions despite nothing coming out. From this they were able to deduce that spiders are stupid.
Okay, it was more about how arthropods often carry out what appear to be preprogrammed sequences of behaviour. Mammals do it too, but are a bit less blatent about it. |

Not only that. Some of the humans were wearing baseball caps & wearing them BACKWARDS. Definite proof they are stupid.
