Looks like it will be a Diamondbacks / Indians World Series.

It's more likely that there'll be seven.

Yeah Mike, how 'bout that game? I was listening to it on the radio, and when NY hit the homer very first batter top of the first, I thought (to put it in A Christmas Story terms) "Oh fuuuuuuuuudge".

But from the bottom of the first on, I couldn't stop smiling. GO TRIBE!

And the commentator was right, waiting for tonight's game to start feels like waiting for Christmas morning.

Seven what?

They had the Yankees/Indians game on at the bowling alley last night. I couldn't actually watch it, as I was busy bowling, but it seemed like every time I looked up Cleveland had more runs.

Yeah, I was actually playing WoW (World of Warcrack is definately an appropriate term for that game), so I was a little distracted myself. But the Indian's home-commentators are great, and do an awsome job of getting into the game, and it seemed every few minutes I'd hear the excited near-screaming of "AND HE'S ROUNDING THIRD AND HEADING HOME! OOOH MY!!"

"Rounding third and heading home..."

Dang, I can hear the voice of Jimmy Dudley from decades past in my head.

I was working late, out here on the coast, but I put up the Fox Sports tab and would take a glance at the play-by-play summary every 10 minutes or so. Understand, growing up in Cleveland in the late 50's-early 60's I fully expect that top o' the first blowout; it's in my genes. Then bottom first, Sizemore on, double play, I thought, oh, poopy, or to that effect, here we go. And we surely did, but not the way I feared.

And now, since we're between innings, time for a cold one...

No, no no. You have to belt it out, like it's the last thing you'll ever say, and the capture of the one responsible for your early demise depends on someone hearing this final oration.

I have a subscription to MLB.com radio. I think it's only like $15/year, I can't remember. But lets me listen to all games online, and you can chose between the home or the away broadcast.

This became necessary because most games are at night, when the local AM stations that broadcast them cut their power and become inaudible.

Since my Astros are way, way out of it, I now say Go Rockies!

The Rockies are looking good right now. I hope they can keep it up. With the Broncos not looking so good right now, the Avs being out of the Stanley Cup race for years, and the Nuggets (enough said about them), it'd be nice to see a Colorado team go far this year.

Exactly. Since the Cards out of it (and probably will be for the next few years), I'm rooting for Colorado.

Darn, I thought that was MIB and this was a thread on the Men In Black! I had some jokes for it, too.

Cleveland takes New York 2-1 in 11.

WHAT a game! Pettite was great for New York, Carmona was greater for Cleveland. But imagine Carmona: nine full innings, three-hits the Yankees... and he doesn't get the win.

Boston and Los Angeles are also having a good one, 3-3 bottom 7th.

Not that hard to imagine, it's been happening to him and CC all year. They should have both ended the season with 21+ wins.

But yes, it was a great game. Real nail biter. The Yanks being the Vader to our Obi Wan, I would love to see the Tribe get the sweep.

Go Mariners! Oh right, they folded in September. Guess I'll have to go back to rooting for ABY. (Anybody But the Yankees)

GO TRIBE!
By the way, I have tickets for game 1 of the ALCS playoff in Cleveland and game 1 of the World Series, should they make it that far.
